Final Vows. Frank Trias will take final vows in the Congregation of the Passionists on Sunday, 14th September at 12 noon Mass in St Mungo’s, Townhead. All are very welcome to attend. Keep Frank in your prayers at this time and in the coming year, as he prepares to be ordained to the priesthood.
Parish Bus Trip to Carfin next Sunday, September 7th. Bus will be parked on Roman Road opposite the Dental Practice from 12-45pm and return approx. 7.30pm. £3. Mass at 3pm. Rosary procession at 5pm. Carfin cafeteria will be open.
Scotland’s Churches Trust. 200 guests will meet on Wednesday 8th October in New Kilpatrick Church, followed by a Civic Reception in the Burgh Hall attended by Princess Anne. Guests will take the opportunity after the reception to visit other local churches. “Let the Children Live” – Charity Concert. St Joseph’s, Milngavie, Justice and Peace Group are hosting a fund-raising concert in St Joseph’s on Friday 12th September at 7.30pm. Classical tenor Martin Aelred will perform Music from the Movies for the charity, which currently supports 600 street children in Medellin, Colombia, by providing shelter, food, care and an education programme for these young victims of neglect and violence known as “the disposable ones”. Tickets available at the door. Adults £8 to include refreshments.
The Soup Run - this Friday. Donations of soup, soft fruits, sandwiches, biscuits will be gratefully received from 7pm. Soup Run leaves at 8pm. Your continuing support is very much appreciated. Just come along to the lower hall, if you would like to volunteer to help.
St Andrew’s PTA Quiz Night on Friday 12th September in the school hall from 7pm until 11pm. Entry is £5 which is payable on the door (BYOB, glasses and snacks). All welcome. Please note that a pre-requisite isn’t a broad range of general knowledge, it’s a fun evening out and a great excuse for a get-together. Open Doors Day, Saturday, 6th September from 11.00am to 3.00pm St Mahew’s Cardross G82 5NY. A rare opportunity to see this unique medieval church, which is the oldest in the Archdiocese of Glasgow. It dates from 1467 and was restored in 1955. It has been a site of worship since the 6th century.

SPRED (Special Religious Development) Our parish group is a small community of faith meeting on Wednesday evenings during school term from September to May. We would welcome new volunteers to become companions in faith to our friends who have a learning disability and help them take their rightful place within the parish community. A series of three introductory evenings for new volunteers starts on Tues 9th September. Why not come along to the first one and give it a try - there's no commitment at this stage.
