Mass & Confession Schedule Changes (Due to Fr. Lyons’ Sick Leave)
Weekend Masses
  • St. Andrew’s, Bearsden
    • Saturday Vigil: 6:00pm
    • Sunday: 10:00am (Confessions from 9:10am)
  • St. Joseph’s, Milngavie
    • Saturday Vigil: 4:30pm (Confessions from 4:00pm)
    • Sunday: 11:30am
Weekday Masses
  • St. Joseph’s: Monday, 10:00am
  • St. Andrew’s: Thursday & Friday, 10:00am
Holydays of Obligation
  • St. Joseph’s: Vigil Mass at 7:00pm
  • St. Andrew’s: 10:00am
Funerals and sick calls will be covered by St Andrew's.

Parish Timetable.
  • As was stated last weekend, the present system of Masses that is in place will continue for the time being. It will be looked at again in late November.
  • Many thanks for your patience and understanding

For The Diary.
  • Fr. McNulty will be here again from Tuesday, 21st October to Thursday, 6th November.
  • Please note, like before, he will cover the weekend Masses in both parishes, funerals and sick calls.
  • Mass on Monday, 3rd November for All Souls will be, Bearsden -10a.m. Milngavie - 7p.m.
  • Apart from this and any funerals, during the week it will be Eucharistic Services like last time.

  • Thanks to all who came along last weekend to find out about our Parish groups or volunteer, and to those who took care of arrangements and covered the various groups.
  • What's next?
  • Photos from the event are at the back of the Church with an ongoing request for more volunteers for most groups.
  • If you can help/want to know more, pop your name and contact details through the Parish House letterbox, reach out to the named lead or speak to Fr Michael.

Parking on the church driveway
  • Following risk assessment guidance, Parishioners should immediately refrain from parking on the double yellow lines on the church driveway and in the turning circle outside the main church entrance door next to the disabled parking bay at all times.
  • This is to ensure a clear and safe access for emergency vehicles.
  • Your assistance in this matter is much appreciated.
 
P3 Parents 
  • Those intending to present their child for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent 2026, please collect an enrolment form from the Sacristy before or after Mass.
P4 parents 
  • No requirement to re-enrol for First Holy Communion.
  • Your form and all the details on it from last year (P3) will automatically roll on to the P4 list. 
All forms are to be returned, please, by Sunday, 2nd November 2025.

The Month of October
  • Is dedicated in a special way to promoting and supporting the Church's missionary work.
  • This emphasis is particularly close to the heart of Pope Leo, who himself served as a missionary in Peru.
  • Throughout October the Holy Father urges us to pray for the church in mission countries, especially where the church is small, poor or newly established.
 
LUNCH CLUB
  • The next meeting of the lunch club is this Thursday, 16th October 12.30-2.30p.m.
  • Upper Hall.
  • As always everyone is very welcome.
  • Come along bring a friend, a neighbour, a family member and enjoy lunch “in a warm friendly environment".

COFFEE MORNING, NEXT SUNDAY 19th October
  • Please join us in the Upper Hall, after 10a.m. Mass, for tea, coffee and some delicious home baking.
  • This month we are raising funds for Alzheimer’s Research.
  • Many thanks to all who helped raise the sum of £190 for Caritas at September’s coffee morning.
 
The Bishop's Conference Event
  • Interreligious Dialogue in a time of Conflict
  • The Conforti Institute, Calder Avenue, Coatbridge
  • 18th October.

Bearsden Literary Society
  • Begins this Monday, 13th October in the Lower Hall at 7.45p.m.
  • If you are interested, there is a handout in the porch with more details.
 
Please attend SPUC’s Candlelight Procession to ensure these precious lives are not forgotten.
  • Thursday 30th October
  • SPUC's Candlelight Procession will leave John Street at Glasgow City Chambers at 6:30pm, heading toward St Andrew's Cathedral.
  • There will then be the praying of the Rosary in the Cathedral at 7pm, followed by Mass at 7:30pm.
 
Pause for Hope: An Ecumenical Service for all people affected by Cancer.
  • Sunday 26th October at 4p.m. in Croftfoot United Free Church, 349 Carmunnock Road, G44 5HH.
  • Reflection by Rev Leslie Edge, Chaplain to the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.
  • You will hear of the work of the Hospice and a collection will be taken up for the vital work of the Hospice.
  • You will have the opportunity to light a candle and leave a prayer intention for yourself or people you know who have been affected by cancer.
  • Please join us for refreshments, information and chat afterwards.

Jubilee of Marian Spirituality, 11-12 October 
  • During this month of the Holy Rosary, why not accept Pope Leo’s invitation to pray the Rosary every day this month for Peace in the Holy Land and in all other nations.
 
Anti-Slavery Week, 13-19 October
  • An opportunity to raise awareness about human trafficking, forced labour, and other forms of modern slavery.

The St Andrew’s Parish Christmas Fair
  • Saturday 15th November after the Vigil Mass and
  • Sunday 16th November after 10a.m. Mass.
  • As always, all of the profit made by the Piety Stall goes to Church funds.
  • If you run a group in the parish and would like to host a stall please contact either Anne MacIntosh (07866 009078) or Annamaria Strachan (07749 715514) before Sunday 26th October to confirm.
 
NOVEMBER EVENTS:
  • The Archdiocese is holding a Lay Assembly for Evangelisation on Saturday, 1st November from 11a.m - 3.30p.m. in Christ The King Church Hall, Kings Park. The Speaker is Mgr. John Armitage from the Diocese of Brentwood. Would anyone be interested in attending? If so, please see Fr. Michael a.s.a.p.
  • St. Margaret's Hospice is having a Dinner Dance on Saturday, 15th November at 7p.m. in the Kerrydale Suite at Celtic Park. More details from the poster in the porch.
  • Poppies are on sale in the porch.
  • November Lists can be picked up from the porch from next weekend.

  • The Parish Bulletin is available weekly on our website/by email for all those on our Parish database and on the noticeboard in the Church porch.
