"The seed is the word of God, Christ is the sower.
All who come to him will live forever."

Annual Day for Life, 16th June This year’s theme, The Lord is My Shepherd, focuses on Compassion and Hope at the End of life against current efforts to legalise assisted euthanasia. To read the Bishops’ Message and moving testimony of a hospital chaplain please see https://www.cbcew.org.uk/day-for-life/.

The Second collection at all Masses will be taken up to support the Church in her vital prolife work.

Coffee Morning, today, 16th June. Please come along and join us in the Upper Hall, after 10a.m. Mass for tea, coffee and some delicious home baking. This month we are raising funds for Aid for the Church in Need, a charity which helps support the Catholic faithful and other Christians where they are persecuted, oppressed or in pastoral need. Huge thanks to all who supported our last coffee morning as we raised £267.50. There is a ‘thank you’ letter posted on the Narthax notice board from Glasgow University.

Congratulations go to the Pope Francis Faith Award P7 champions who will be receiving their award at a ceremony tomorrow, Monday 17th June at 2p.m. in St Nicholas’. This is great news for the school and for both parish communities. Parents, grandparents and family members are invited to attend.

There will be a presentation made in St Nicholas' to Mrs Grogan and Ms Lennon tomorrow 17th June at the school - an opportunity for both parishes and Parents’ Council to express their gratitude for all their good work over the years and their commitment to St Nicholas', and to wish Mrs Grogan and Ms Lennon well in their new appointments.

St Nicholas' Leavers' Mass and presentation to say farewell to the school's P7 pupils will be held this Thursday 20th June at 6.30p.m. in the school. Parents, grandparents and all family members most welcome.   We wish the P7 pupils the very best of luck for the future. We wish them, too, and their families and the whole school community a lovely summer!

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 16th June (Nearest Sunday to World Refugee Day (20th June)).   Immigrants dying at sea, in boats which were vehicles of hope and became vehicles of
death. That is how the headlines put it. … I felt that I had to come here today, to pray and to offer a sign of my closeness, but also to challenge our consciences lest this tragedy be repeated. Please, let it not be repeated!   Pope Francis, Visit to Lampedusa, 8 July 2013

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home -  Nature is usually seen as a system which can be studied, understood and controlled, whereas creation can only be understood as a gift from the outstretched hand of the Father of all, and as a reality illuminated by the love which calls us together into universal communion. (#76)

The Upper hall will be used on 4th July as a polling station. Unfortunately, parking in the grounds won’t be permitted that day. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
