Remember Vocations - Saturday 5th September - Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations to the Priesthood, 10 -11am, with Exposition, Rosary and Benediction. Have you noticed there seems to be fewer priests to serve parishes these days.  Is that because not many people are praying for Vocations?  Is it because so few parishioners visit Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and pray the Rosary for Vocations?
Why don’t you come and “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send more labourers into the harvest”?

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week – 29th August
Nature has poured forth all things for all people for common use. God has ordered all things to be produced, so that there should be food in common to all, and that the earth should be a common possession for all. Nature, therefore, has produced a common right for all, but greed has made it a right for a few.
Saint Ambrose of Milan

Laudato Si’ Quote - integral ecology
We know, for example, that countries which have clear legislation about the protection of forests continue to keep silent as they watch laws repeatedly being broken. Moreover, what takes place in any one area can have a direct or indirect influence on other areas. Thus, for example, drug use in affluent societies creates a continual and growing demand for products imported from poorer regions, where behaviour is corrupted, lives are destroyed, and the environment continues to deteriorate. (#142)

SEASON OF CREATION: Begins on Tuesday 1st September till 4th October.
Care for God's creation is not an optional extra for today's Catholic.
Popes Francis and Leo have put ecological issues front and centre for the Church.
This year’s theme is “Living Water”.  So perhaps this Season of Creation begins with a personal question:  What is flowing from my heart into the world? Is it care or indifference towards others? Hope or discouragement? A desire for justice, peace, and communion?
Conference:
  • Saturday 5th September 2026, 10am-3pm.Eyre Hall, Archdiocesan Offices.
  • Guest speaker Lorna Gold, Exec Director, Laudato Si’Movement
  • Workshops exploring how to engage young people & parish groups. register at; bit.ly/SeasonofCreation26

To celebrate the Season of Creation:
  • Children’s Liturgy team is starting a project to create a collage of God's creations.
  • To help us get started, we are asking families to go on a mini 'nature hunt' this week!
  • Please look for a few interesting, small items from your garden or a walk, like colourful leaves, small sticks, or smooth stones, and bring them in a small bag to the session on Sunday 30th August.
  • N/B: The children's liturgy has started back after the Summer holidays.
