Regarding young children who haven’t made their First Communion being given a blessing at Communion time. Parents who wish their child to receive a blessing must come forward, please, in the Communion line to the priest. Many thanks.
FUNDRAISING. The parish is looking to set up a new fundraising body along the same principles as the 29 Club. We are in the process of working this out, so please be patient. I hope you will continue to support this new fundraising activity as you have in the past.
Our SPRED parish group, which consists of parishioners from St Andrew's and St Joseph's is actively looking for friends who have special needs aged 21 plus and volunteers who would be interested in training in order to keep this vital parish based ministry going forward. Remember Vocations - Change of Date - Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations to the Priesthood, Now Saturday 12th July 10 -11a.m, with Exposition, Rosary and Benediction. Have you noticed there seems to be fewer priests to serve parishes these days? Is it because fewer people are praying for Vocations to the priesthood? Why don’t you come for a while and “Pray the Lord of the harvest to send more labourers into the harvest”?

There is also the fact that people no longer seem to believe in a happy future; they no longer have blind trust in a better tomorrow based on the present state of the world and our technical abilities. There is a growing awareness that scientific and technological progress cannot be equated with the progress of humanity and history, a growing sense that the way to a better future lies elsewhere.
