Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week – 8th June 2025 "An evangelising community gets involved by word and deed in people's daily lives: it bridges distances....and it embraces human life, touching the suffering flesh of Christ in others." Evangelii Gaudium para.24

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - Ecological culture cannot be reduced to a series of urgent and partial responses to the immediate problems of pollution, environmental decay and the depletion of natural resources. There needs to be a distinctive way of looking at things, a way of thinking, policies, an educational programme, a lifestyle and a spirituality which together generate resistance to the assault of the technocratic paradigm.  (#111)

RCIA PROGRAMME: Interested in becoming a Catholic? Please get in touch. The programme of learning and instruction will begin after summer and prepares adults for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Please speak to Fr Michael, if you would like to know more.

FUNDRAISING. The parish is looking to set up a new fundraising body along the same principles as the 29 Club. We are in the process of working this out, so please be patient. I hope you will continue to support this new fundraising activity as you have in the past.

Jubilee Service. Each Deanery in the diocese has been asked to take part in a Jubilee Service at the Cathedral this year. Our date is 15th September at 7p.m. Along with St. Joseph's, Milngavie, we have been asked to arrange transport if possible. Therefore, if you are interested in attending, there is a sheet in the porch for you to sign. If there are sufficient numbers we would try to hire a bus. Could you please sign up by the end of June.

"We Are Mission" handout is in the porch for anyone interested to take away and is free of charge.

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some act of reverence such as a bow.
