Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 9th February 2025 Among the fruits of justice, mercy to the poor should certainly be considered the most important. That justice which comes from faith belongs to Jesus Christ. It is true that “if one of the brothers or one of the sisters is in need of clothes and has not enough food to live on, and one of you says to them, ‘I wish you well; keep yourself warm and eat plenty’ without giving them these bare necessities of life, then what good is that?” A Quo Die, Pope Clement XIII

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home The Lord was able to invite others to be attentive to the beauty that there is in the world because he himself was in constant touch with nature, lending it an attention full of fondness and wonder. (#97)

Jubilee 2025, 8th – 9th February, Jubilee of Armed Forces, Police and Security Personnel
This week we pray for the courage of those who serve to protect us, for the safety of them and their families, and for the establishment of peace in our world and communities. A special prayer also for all the Armed Forces and Police chaplains.

The Holy Year Prayer Cards are at the back of the church for you to take away. Please also take one to the housebound and sick of the parish.

Coffee Morning Sunday16th February - Please come along and join us after 10 a.m. Mass for tea, coffee and some delicious home baking where we will be raising funds for St Margaret of Scotland Hospice- offering compassion, dedicated commitment and excellent care to patients with advanced life-limiting illnesses and also to the older person with complex medical and nursing needs. January’s coffee morning for SCIAF raised a total of £567.70 (£223.70 at door and £344 in Real Gifts), many thanks.

PIETY STALL If you placed an order for the new Missal, it is now available to collect from the Piety Stall.

New Video from aWordinyourear ~This video captures the wonderful stillness and intimate nature of God’s request to Mary by Angel Gabriel. Mary’s unconditional ‘Yes’ to becoming the Mother of Jesus is the moment she conceives Him through the Holy Spirit. The manger where He will lay is already in place…He will come into the world silently…under the radar…a tiny, helpless child. But when all the Angels come from heaven singing to welcome Him – and spread the Good News to Shepherds and Kings…Jesus ‘goes public’!
