Coffee Morning, Sunday, 16th June. Please come along and join us in the Upper Hall, after 10a.m. Mass, for tea, coffee and some delicious home baking. This month we are raising funds for Aid for the Church in Need, a charity which helps support the Catholic faithful and other Christians where they are persecuted, oppressed or in pastoral need. Huge thanks to all who supported our last coffee morning as we raised £267.50. There is a ‘thank you’ letter posted on the Narthax notice board from Glasgow University.
Well done and many congratulations ~ Ellen and Roisin joined more than 1600 young people from across Scotland at the Clyde Auditorium last Monday where they were presented with the Caritas award. Congratulations go to the Pope Francis Faith Award P7 champions who will be receiving their award at a ceremony on Monday 17th June at 2p.m. in St Nicholas’. This is great news for the school and for both parish communities. Parents, grandparents and family members are invited to attend.
St Nicholas' Leavers' Mass and presentation to say farewell to the school's P7 pupils will be held on Thursday 20th June at 6.30p.m. in the school. Parents, grandparents and all family members most welcome. We wish the P7 pupils the very best of luck for the future. We wish them, too, and their families and the whole school community a lovely summer!

All Saints, Bearsden are holding a Flower Festival entitled ‘Celebrating the Hymns’ on Friday 14th/ Saturday 15th June from 10:30 to 16:00; on Sunday 16th June from 14:00 - 16:00. Flower arrangements based on hymns will adorn the church. Tea, coffee and home baking will be available. ‘Songs of Praise’ will take place at 18:00. Everyone is welcome.
There will be a presentation made in St Nicholas' to Mrs Grogan and Ms Lennon on 17th June at the school's assembly - an opportunity for both parishes to express our gratitude for all their good work over the years and their commitment to St Nicholas', and to wish Mrs Grogan and Ms Lennon well in their new appointments.
The Upper hall will be used on 4th July as a polling station. Unfortunately, parking in the grounds won’t be permitted that day. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

There is still time to respond to the consultation on a proposed Right to Palliative Care (Scotland) Bill. The proposal, put forward by Miles Briggs MSP, would introduce a private members’ bill that would establish a legal right to palliative care for everyone in Scotland who is living with terminal illness and to provide equitable access to the palliative support. Justice & Peace Scotland will be holding a Solidarity Weekend on 15th and 16th June and you are invited to take part! On Saturday 15th June we will join the National Demonstration for Gaza at 10.30 in Glasgow Green, and on Sunday 16th June we will join the Solidarity Gathering at 1pm at Dungavel House detention centre. The Youth Ministries Team is hosting a P1 Welcome event for families of children starting at St Nicholas in August. This will be held on Sunday 23rd June from 1p.m. until 3p.m. All family members are welcome.

Support For Drumchapel Foodbank. Drumchapel Foodbank is particularly in need of extra donations during the summer holidays when school meals are not provided, and many families are under additional pressure to provide for their children. Collection box for all donations is in the house porch. Any cash donations handed in are used to purchase from Asda for immediate delivery to the Foodbank.
