Steps For Fairtrade
The Fairtrade Foundation estimates that 1.5 million producers in the developing world currently benefit from fair trade initiatives. They want to double the impact in 2012 by encouraging us to take simple Steps to increase our use of Fairtrade products and by prompting others to do the same.

The Fairtrade Foundation wants to know of the Steps we have taken - details are available on www.fairtrade.org.uk/step. The website also gives more ideas for promoting Fairtrade and increasing our uptake, together with access to promotional material.
As a Fairtrade Parish we have pledged as a minimum to use only Fairtrade tea and coffee at all events.
Some ideas include:
- Use Fairtrade lemons or sugar for pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, 21st February.
- Buy Fairtrade flowers to give on Mothering Sunday,18th March.
- Look out for Fairtrade chocolate products to give on Easter Sunday, 8th April.
- Purchase Fairtrade bananas once in a month.
- Buy one item made of Fairtrade cotton instead of regular brands.
- If buying gold, look for the Fairmined mark.
