"I say to you, love your enemies
and pray for those who persecute you."

Parish 50th Anniversary Celebrations - To help us celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of our Parish, we’d like to gather photos of parish life over the past 50 years for possible inclusion in a 50th Jubilee calendar. If you have photographs of any aspect of our liturgical, pastoral or social life as a Parish such as celebration of the Sacraments, Parish Pilgrimages or social occasions, please share.  This includes any personal celebrations of sacraments such as First Communion, weddings etc.   You can do this in one of two ways.   Either hand in photographs to the parish house or sacristy or send by e-mail to by 29th August. If you’d like any photographs returned, please just put these in an envelope with your name and address and we will have photographs copied and returned to you.

We welcome the St Andrew’s Primary and Turnbull High pupils and staff who are attending and taking part in today’s 10am Mass for Catholic Education Sunday. Pick up a copy of SCES Newsletter featuring news of recent and forthcoming developments in education. There’s also a special message from Archbishop Tartaglia on the theme, Developing as a Community of Faith and Learning.  The schools’ newsletters are also available in the porch. Join us for tea, coffee and cakes served in the hall after Mass.

It was great the many suggestions we received from St Andrew's Primary school's Eco gardeners for a name for the Jubilee garden. They were all good. The one we have chosen is “Spirit of Peace”, and we're very grateful to Eco gardener, Evie, for suggesting this name. The garden's official opening will be on Friday, 19th May.

Vocations to the Priesthood initiative Pick up a copy of the Vocations leaflet from the porch. It is a good read of several young men who have discerned a vocation to the Priesthood.

Library Books  We now have a very extensive range of library books covering a wide variety of religious topics. To make it easier for people to be able to see some of the books in the library, a selection of them will be placed on the table in the porch at the Masses this weekend. We would like to encourage you to have a look at the books. As Lent is coming up soon you might like to consider an extra bit of spiritual reading as one of your Lenten practices.

Please help the Passkeepers by leaving your hymn books and order of Mass cards tidily after Masses, and by taking your bulletin away with you. Many thanks.

Golden Jubilee Forty Hours Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament  - 5th, 6th & 7th March. More details soon.

Our Liturgy Group discussed the matter of fewer and fewer people attending the Christmas Midnight Mass over the recent years. So, as we feel that an earlier time might be better suited for people, the Midnight Mass for 2017 will move to 10pm. In our parish cluster, there will still be a 12 Midnight Mass in St Joseph’s.
