Lent? What’s it all about? A Youth Evening of games, quizzes, chat and food - this weekend (Saturday) 6.30pm – 8.30pm. in St Joseph’s for the young people of St Andrew’s, St Benedict’s and St Joseph’s.
Music - The music ministry in St Andrew’s is an important part of the Liturgy. We always like to try and ensure that all the weekend Masses are covered musically. Some, at present, unfortunately, are not. If you would like to get involved and join the parish’s music ministry as an organist, pianist, instrumentalist or cantor, please contact Sally Mulholland [email protected] It doesn’t need to be a permanent or regular commitment throughout the whole year. You might be a student and when home on holiday can help out for a couple of months. If you can help, please do get in touch.
Lenten Gospel Reflection Session - Monday 26th March after the 10am Mass in the Upper Hall. session will reflect on the Gospel Reading for the Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper. If you can, please join us for tea/coffee and a reflective and enjoyable discussion.
Lentfest 2018 - The Dementia Journey with Faith and the ArtsOne of the many events of Lentfest, a day devoted to the positive impact of Faith and the Arts on those living with dementia, supported by Alzheimer Scotland, Playlists for Life and the Scottish Catholic Medical Association. Speakers include Dr Adrian Treloar, author of a book ‘Hope on a Difficult Journey", specialising in Dementia and the Catholic Faith. Coffee Morning Please come along and join us for a cuppa, a chat and some delicious home baking on Sunday, 18th March after 10am Mass in the Upper Hall. This month we will be raising funds for the National Autistic Society, Scotland.
Many thanks to all who came along to February’s coffee morning at which the fantastic sum of £232.31 was raised for Alzheimer Scotland - East Dunbartonshire. A special thank you too, to Matthew and Sophie O’Hagan, who sold cakes for the charity and donated the proceeds of their sale to the charity coffee morning.
Thanks also to the representativesfrom Alzheimer Scotland including Anne O’Donnell, one of our parishioners, and Angi Inch, who came along to provide invaluable information and. This money will be used for Community Activities and faith based projects, in East Dunbartonshire. A thank you letter from Alzheimer Scotland is on the narthex board.

Eco Group – A group of enthusiastic Eco gardeners from St Andrew’s Primary will be working away in the Jubilee Garden this Thursday afternoon, and afterwards enjoy some refreshments in the Hut.
Mona, David and Lisa, the family of the late Pat Jenkins, wish to thank our friends and parishioners for the numerous Mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers, plants and support during our recent sad bereavement. Also grateful thanks for the generous donation of £965 which has been donated to Mary’s Meals in Pat’s name. A Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Nominations for Parish Pastoral Council. Pick up a form from the porch. Members are normally appointed to serve a three year term and membership is open to active parishioners over the age of 16. Please return nomination form by Sunday, 29th April 2018. The Council is a planning body of parishioners which fosters the full participation of the entire parish in the life and mission of the Church as lived out in St. Andrew’s Parish. In consultation with the Parish Priest, the PPC actively listens to and identifies the needs and concerns of parishioners and helps develop a plan to respond to those needs.
Passover Meal - Wednesday March 28th 2018 Upper Hall7:30pm: following the success of this event over the last few years it is proposed to run the event again on Wednesday 28th March 2018.As this event involves quite a bit of preparation we need to gauge how much support it will have from Parishioners before confirming that it will definitely go ahead.If you intend to participate in this event please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the porch .If you are willing to help with preparations on the day please add your name to the separate red column.

Appeal for volunteers for church cleaning. At present, the church is cleaned once a month (on the first Sunday) by a contract commercial cleaning firm. The church does, however, need to be cleaned more regularly. We would therefore like to try and re-establish a rota of volunteer cleaners. Could you give some of your time to help? Once every four weeks for a couple of hours? Would you consider being part of one of the teams? If you are interested, please contact 942 4635 / [email protected] The rota of volunteers would replace buying in the once a month service.
