
Catholic Education Sunday - St Nicholas' Primary, Turnbull High and St Aloysius College are all taking part in today's 10am Mass. Pick up a copy of the schools and SCES' newsletters. A second collection will be taken up to support the Scottish Catholic Education Service's vital work of supporting our catholic schools and teachers.

Well done and many congratulations to Ann Colraine and John McDermott who have now completed the archdiocesan two years catechists course. They will be commissioned for the ministry of Catechist on 18th November by Archbishop Tartaglia at a Mass in the Cathedral.

Adult Faith Formation – Following the success of the Bishop Robert Barron Catholicism Series which ran through Lent and into Eastertide, Bishop Baron's Pivot Players series will be shown on various occasions during 2019 /2020. The next in the series of DVDs will be shown on Thursday 5th December in the Upper Hall at 7pm. The subject of the episode being shown is St Francis of Assisi. Please join use for tea/coffee and Bishop Barron's insight into this important figure in the Church.
Monthly Reflection Sessions, the next session will take place on Monday 25th November after the 10 am Mass in the Church House Dining Room. We will be reflecting on the Gospel reading for Sunday 1st Dec which is the first Sunday of Advent. The Gospel reading for that Sunday is Mathew 24:37-44. Please join us for coffee/ tea and a friendly discussion.
Kate, Nicola, Joseph, Samantha and John – with heartfelt thanks to everyone for their prayers, love and support during Jim's illness – for the many lovely Mass cards and messages of condolence after his death. Very special thanks to Rev Fr Mackle, Monsignor Ryan and Deacon Thomas for their unfailing spiritual care and comfort to Jim. The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intentions of all.

St Andrew's Christmas Fair today, Sunday 17th Nov after 10am and 12 noon Masses. All profits from the Piety Stall go to Church funds. Tea, coffee and home baking will be served at this event with all proceeds this year going to The White Lily Fund. This charity was founded by one of our own parishioners, Mrs Angela Bruno MBE, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and now raises funds for research into and equipment for ALL types of cancer in the west of Scotland and has raised over £1 million to date.
St Nicholas' Christmas Fayre. Sat 30th Nov. St Andrew's Upper Hall. 1pm- 4pm. Come and join us for a hot drink, a mince pie and some shortbread and have a browse around our fabulous Christmas stalls. Admission: Adults £2 ( includes tea, coffee, mince pies and shortbread). Children £1 ( includes juice and biscuits)

Pre Christmas Appeal - Drumchapel Foodbank. The number of families now dependent on the foodbank, and the number of emergencies, are rising fast. All donations always gratefully received. The collection boxes in St Andrew's church porch are delivered to the Foodbank every Monday. Church open Mon – Sat 'til 4.45pm & Sun 'til 1.30pm.
An Introduction to Prayer for Everyone- Deacon Nick - On 28th Nov 7pm – 8pm in the upper hall Deacon Nick will be speaking on "An Introduction to Prayer for Everyone." - a one hour session prior to Advent to get your prayer juices flowing. We are all called to be holy but we are not all called to be priests or religious people. This is aimed at everyone whether you are a busy working parent, a student or a retired person: there is a prayer style for everyone and it doesn't have to eat into your busy life. Come along and be inspired.
Fair Trade Group – Christmas Event. The Milngavie and Bearsden Fair Trade Group is holding a Christmas Fayre in the Upper Hall from 3.30 – 5.00 pm on Friday 29 November 2019. Mince pies and non-alcoholic fruit punch together with fairtrade goods (including Christmas cards and Advent calendars) will all be for sale. All are welcome.
Soup Run – Christmas Gifts & Carols– Our soup run volunteers and folk group will take Christmas Gifts and sing carols at two centres this year on Fri 6th Dec and your help in making that happen, would be really appreciated. We would like each gift to include : a hand written Christmas card, hat, gloves, scarf, underwear, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush and ladies to include sanitary products. These will be in a Gift bag rather than wrapped this year. If you are able to provide any or all of these items including gift bags, can you please put in the box at the back of the church marked Soup Run, between now and Sun 24th Nov. In addition, extra new or excellent condition inexpensive men's underwear is desperately needed and will also be distributed at the Wayside Club.
Padre Pio Prayer Group – meets Mondays at 7pm. Divine Mercy Novena is prayed weekdays after morning Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. All most welcome.
