Vocations to the Priesthood—Evening of Catechesis, Prayer and Fraternity—As part of our diocesan vocations programme we will be introducing a monthly evening of recollection for those who are in the early stages of discerning a vocation to the priesthood. These evenings will take place on the 2nd Friday of each month beginning in September. Each evening will consist of a period of catechesis followed by some guided meditation in front of the Blessed Sacrament, finishing with some social time. Ladies Cabaret and Fun Casino Night in Aid of the White Lily Fund which raises money for Cancer Research in the West of Scotland—Friday 25th October at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Champagne Reception 3 Course Meal, Cabaret and Fun Casino Tables. SPRED—(Special Religious Development) has been part of the pastoral and catechetical life of the Archdiocese since 1984. Our parish group is a small community of faith meeting on Wednesday evening during school term-time, and we would welcome new volunteers to help our friends with learning disabilities take their rightful place within the parish community. The Council announces a public meeting at St. Andrew’s Primary School on Monday 16th September at 7.30 p.m. as an opportunity to ask questions about the proposals and to raise issues or concerns.

Late Summer Music in Memory of Martin Rossi—Martin, a former pupil of St. Andrew’s RC Secondary School tragically died from epilepsy in September last year aged just 25. A fabulous young man who touched many peoples’ lives through his love of sport, music, charitable work with HCPT and many others on Sunday 15th September in the Stevenson Hall of the Royal Conservatoire of Music

Daybreak—A small local group aimed at providing help for those with varying degrees of memory loss. We meet every Thursday afternoon from 1.30 p.m. till 3.30 p.m. in the New Halls of New Kilpatrick Church. We offer opportunities, in a caring and supportive environment, to socialise, enjoy craft, board and card games, singing, controlled exercises, conversation and reminiscences, finishing with a cuppa!
