World Youth Day—25th –28th July at The University of Stirling. Open to all young adults aged 14-25. Involves a Youth Festival, daily mass, great music and a mini Pilgrimage. Charity Ladies’ Lunch and Fashion Show—In Aid of the White Lily Fund which raises money for Cancer Research in the West of Scotland. Come along and join in the fun! Sunday 17th March at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. A glass of bubbly on arrival at 1.00 p.m. and lunch begins at 2.00 p.m. Tickets cost £35 each. Some of the shops exhibiting are Solo, silks and wish. Coffee Morning—After 10.00 a.m. Mass, Sunday 17th February. Please come along and join us. Donations of home baking (no nuts please) always gratefully received. This month we are raising funds for Shelterbox. A British charity provides emergency shelter and lifesavings supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters, at a time when they need it the most. Also many thanks to everyone who came along to January’s coffee morning and a special thanks to the ‘Mystery Donor’ for their contribution to the sum of £142 which was raised for the National Autistic Society. The sum of £70.00 was also raised for the Andrea Kearney Fund.
Justice and Peace: Enough Food for Everyone If.. SCIAF and Justice and Peace Scotland are among the groups supporting this major UK wide campaign to focus the G8’s attention on world hunger this year. In Scotland the campaign also recognises the Scottish government’s proven commitment to international development and urges action to: increase the Scottish Climate Change Fund, continue promoting Fair Trade, advocate for improved land tenure rights for the poor and international tax transparency, increase understanding here of the complex causes of hunger and target aid better. Lent Station Masses 2013.—Archbishop Tartaglia will celebrate Mass in each of the nine deaneries of the Archdiocese during Lent—Our Local North West Deanery Mass will take place at St. Lawrence’s on Thursday 28th March at 7.30 p.m. Please note that therefore Stations of the Cross and the Lent Evening Mass here at St. Andrew’s on that evening are cancelled.
