Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some preparatory act of reverence such as a bow. The Padre Pio Prayer Group meets after 10am Mass each Monday in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. All most welcome. Legion of Mary: A bus will leave from Milngavie Railway Station this Wednesday 13th July at 6.00p.m.and return around 9.00p.m. Cost £8.00. Do remember that our church is now open weekdays until 5pm, and on Saturdays until after the 5pm Vigil Mass. Piety Stall rota ~ Sincere thanks to everyone who regularly volunteers to assist with running the stall and to those who have recently volunteered. The rota sheet for July, August and September is on the door of the Piety Stall. We are particularly short of volunteers for the 10am Sunday morning Mass – if you could spare 15 minutes after this Mass to help, we’d be most grateful. Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - To help our hearts burn with the charity of Jesus the Good Shepherd, we can train ourselves to do three things suggested to us by today’s readings: seek out, include and rejoice. Pope Francis, 3 June 2016 The Archdiocese of Glasgow welcomes three candidates into priesthood and two into permanent diaconate this summer. Edward Toner, Frank McKendry and Douglas Green will be ordained priests, and Paul Brady and Tony Murphy will be ordained permanent deacons. We thank God for the gift of their vocations and look forward to their ministry in the parishes of our archdiocese. Live Streaming ~ will continue up until next Sunday 17th July, after which it will cease to be daily and become a service for special occasions only. The live streaming service has served us well over the past two years, especially during the lockdown periods when our church was closed, and when numbers were restricted. Parishioners who are housebound can still watch Mass at EWTN, Catholic TV or Mass Online. I want to take this opportunity to thank our live streaming team who have very faithfully operated this service since July 2020. Annulment and Marriage Validation - see Fr Mackle to learn more about the process if you are divorced and remarried or never married in the Catholic Church. There is now no charge to the petitioner for marriage cases at the Tribunal. Interested in becoming a Catholic?– Not baptised? Baptised in another faith? RCIA will begin in the autumn. The programme of learning and instruction prepares adults for the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. Please speak to Fr. Reduce, reuse, recycle - Donation boxes are in the porch for uniforms suitable for reuse - an event will be held on Sun 24th July after 10am Mass in the Hall where you can pick up nearly new items to replace your donations – let’s all take small steps to save the planet. For women affected by separation and divorce – next meeting of this confidential and peer support group is Fri 5thAugust in St Patrick's hall, Dumbarton 6pm - 8pm. The Archdiocese has advised our parish of some additional Safeguarding Training sessions for both Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 is mandatory for all volunteers before they begin in their role.
