The Fourth Mystery—Priestly vocations are, above all, the fruit of the prayers of the Church. Jesus encouraged us to pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send labourers his harvest. A good suggestion—when you pray the rosary, whether it be at home or in the church or when driving or out for a walk, dedicate the Fourth Mystery to the intercession for priestly vocations for the Archdiocese of Glasgow.
Remember the Dead—Praying for the dead, especially during the month of November, reminds us that the Church is not confined to this world, but extends into the next as well. By praying for the dead, as we prayed for them while they were alive, we can establish a special link with the “communion of saints”. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered up every day during the month of November for the Holy Souls.

John Paul Academy—Intends to take a party of 20 students to Rome next April for the Canonisation of Blessed John Paul II. In response to the school’s recent appeal to parishes for help to meet the cost, St Andrew’s will be happy to make a contribution, which will help with sending two of the students. It is hoped that at some stage after their return from Rome, the students could perhaps visit our parish and tell us about their experience of the Canonisation.
