New Bishop for Glasgow - Pope Francis has agreed to appoint an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Glasgow. The new bishop will assist Archbishop Tartaglia who turns 65 in January. The Archbishop asked the Pope for an auxiliary following his health scare earlier this year and he will be able to assist with the large numbers of confirmations which will resume in 2017 when the revised order of the sacraments takes effect. This Sunday is Sea Sunday, when the Church prays for all those who live and work at sea. The second collection will be taken up for Apostleship of the Sea. For information about AoS’s work, visit www.apostleshipofthesea.org.uk AoS has produced a three-minute video clip which shows how the Church, through AoS, cares for and supports seafarers who bring goods and services to people all over the world. Evening Pilgrimage to Carfin for St Joseph’s and St Andrew’s – tomorrow Monday, 13th July. Bus will leave at 6.30pm at the Post Office in Milngavie and return at 9.30pm. All are very welcome. The evening will include Rosary Procession, Holy Mass and Benediction. Organised by the Legion of Mary. Next evening pilgrimage will be Thursday, 13th August.
Prisoner Support Programme – The Low Moss Chaplaincy Team is looking for volunteers who are interested in working with prisoners and ex-offenders on their release from jail. Volunteers will receive free training with ongoing support and supervision. Please see flyer in porch or contact Hugh Foy [email protected] for more details.
Re-decoration of the church and re-carpeting of the sanctuary – Approved Project Status has been granted for this project, the approximate cost of which is £22,000. As an Approved Project, all fund-raising and donations are exempt from the diocesan levy. How about holding or organising a fundraising event to raise money for this parish project?

Anyone in any parish in the Archdiocese of Glasgow can snap a selfie and email it to us for a chance to win a £20 voucher for Amazon.co.uk. It’s not a serious photography competition – it’s just a bit of fun! Prizes will go to the quirkiest, boldest, cleverest entries – so go on, get snapping! Entries will be displayed in our September Exhibition in the AGAP Gallery space in St Patrick’s, Anderston and we’ll also display some Online via our website and social media so make sure that you consent to your image being used in this way before you enter. Closing date: 24th August 2015. How to enter: Take a photo with your phone or camera featuring any parish in the Archdiocese of Glasgow. Email it to [email protected] with your name and your parish’s name. It could be anything – a special event in your parish, a pic from your First Communion, Confirmation or Wedding or a snap of your parish youth club, quiz team or whatever! The Festival is packed with dynamic talks, live-band worship, powerful prayer times, fun social activities, creative workshops, in-depth discussions, evening entertainment and loads more. With top speakers from the USA and all over the UK, Youth 2000 events are primarily for 16 - 35 year olds.
