celebrations marking the 375th Anniversary of the founding of New Kilpatrick Church.
14:00 Scratch Rehearsal

Summer Mass Schedule. In order that one priest is able to say Masses in both St Andrew's and St Joseph's during July and August, a Mass schedule has been drawn up by the Pastoral Area Council. This will be publicised next week.  As it has become increasingly difficult to arrange a summer supply priest, due to there being fewer priests now, a reduced number of Masses for July and August has become necessary.

Children’s Choir Dates 10 a.m. Mass St Andrew’s Church. If your child is not at St Nicholas’ and they would like to join the choir, please contact Annamaria ([email protected]/0141942 9799) to arrange rehearsal links: 12th May, 9th & 16th  June 10 a.m. Mass.

The First Holy Communion of 44 children will be on 19th May at 12 noon Mass.  We look forward to the celebration. Please note - all the first communicants will be seated together. Parents are asked to drop their child off at the hall at 11.30 a.m. sharp and make their way straight into the church. We are expecting the Mass to be busy. The hall will be set up as an overflow area to help accommodate numbers. Please remember that all children are to attend the rehearsal at 11 a.m. on Thursday 16th May in St Andrew's.

St Nicholas’ has organised a rehearsal for First Holy Communion on Thursday 16th May at 11a.m. in St Andrew’s, which is for all pupils from all schools.

Save the date: For all the First Communicants and their families, there will be a Mass of Thanksgiving at 10 a.m. on Sunday 9th June followed by a big First Holy Communion party.

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 12th May
In Jesus, God completely committed himself in order to restore hope to the poor, to those
who were deprived of dignity, to strangers, to the sick, to captives, and to sinners, whom he
welcomed with kindness. In all this, Jesus was the living expression of the Father’s mercy.”
Pope Francis, Jubilee Audience, 20th February 2016

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home -    The writings of the prophets invite us to find renewed strength in times of trial by contemplating the all-powerful God who created the universe. Yet God’s infinite power does not lead us to flee his fatherly tenderness, because in him affection and strength are joined.  Indeed, all sound spirituality entails both welcoming divine love and adoration, confident in the Lord because of his infinite power.  (#73)
This year, the theme of Laudato Si’ week, 19th – 26th May,  is "Seeds of Hope", inspired by Laudate Deum which exhorts:  "There are no lasting changes without cultural changes [...] and there are no cultural changes without personal changes" (LD 70).
Why not sign up for the free newsletter of the Laudato Si’ Movement to find out more about what is going on to bring about this cultural change:- https://laudatosimovement.org/
