Summer Mass Schedule. In order that one priest is able to say Masses in both St Andrew's and St Joseph's during July and August, a Mass schedule has been drawn up by the Pastoral Area Council. This will be publicised next week. As it has become increasingly difficult to arrange a summer supply priest, due to there being fewer priests now, a reduced number of Masses for July and August has become necessary.

In Jesus, God completely committed himself in order to restore hope to the poor, to those
who were deprived of dignity, to strangers, to the sick, to captives, and to sinners, whom he
welcomed with kindness. In all this, Jesus was the living expression of the Father’s mercy.”

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - The writings of the prophets invite us to find renewed strength in times of trial by contemplating the all-powerful God who created the universe. Yet God’s infinite power does not lead us to flee his fatherly tenderness, because in him affection and strength are joined. Indeed, all sound spirituality entails both welcoming divine love and adoration, confident in the Lord because of his infinite power. (#73)
This year, the theme of Laudato Si’ week, 19th – 26th May, is "Seeds of Hope", inspired by Laudate Deum which exhorts: "There are no lasting changes without cultural changes [...] and there are no cultural changes without personal changes" (LD 70).
