St Andrew’s Celebration Music and Quiz Night - Saturday 25th November
Tickets £5 include “tea and buns”. Please come along to share an evening with some of the parish’s talented musicians as we celebrate the feast of our patron, St Andrew. There will also be a chance to show off your knowledge of all things Scottish in a quiz with rounds on music, sport, geography, history and famous Scots. Donations of prizes for a raffle, which will take place on the night, will be gratefully received. Proceeds from the raffle and from all our jubilee events will be donated to a chosen charity. This is a BYOB event.
Jubilee Pop Up Choir will perform two or three songs on the 25th Nov at the St Andrew’s Music Night. Next rehearsal 3 - 4.30pm today, Sunday, in the church, and final one will be next Sunday same time.
We are very grateful to the pupils of Bearsden Academy and Mr McKeown who are supporting, once again this year, our Soup-run’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal for the homeless.
Golden Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving will be celebrated on Sunday 3rd December at 10.30am, followed by a buffet in the upper hall. Archbishop Tartaglia will be the principal celebrant. Everyone’s invited. Please come along and join in the celebration. Remember, there will be no 10am or noon Masses on the 3rd Dec.

Volunteers wanted!!! The White Lily Charity, founded by one of our very own parishioners, Mrs Angela Bruno, MBE, and which raises funds for research into, and equipment for, all types of cancer, in the west of Scotland, has been allocated a ‘ bag packing’ slot at Asda, Bearsden on Saturday 25th November from 10am-4pm. We are looking for volunteers to help us by working a 2 hour shift either :- 10-12, 12-2 or 2-4pm, so not terribly onerous.All family members welcome, old and young! Assisted Parishes Fund - Second Collection taken up 11th/12th Nov gives financial assistance to parishes who otherwise would struggle to make ends meet.

Dementia Friends Session provided by representatives from Alzheimer Scotland. Recommended for those who undertake voluntary work within the Parish visiting the sick and the elderly i.e. Extraordinary Ministers, Legion of Mary, SVDP, anyone caring for family/friends with Dementia and anyone who has an interest in improving their awareness of Dementia. Confirmation preparation meeting - Tuesday, 16th January 2018 at 7pm in St Joseph's for parents and sponsors. On the same evening and at the same time in St Joseph’s, catechists of the two parishes will gather with the P7s to lead them in preparing for Confirmation.
Primary 7 parents - The Piety Stall has a selection of books about the lives of the Saints on sale which may be helpful with preparation for Confirmation.
