Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 12th November 2023 (Remembrance Sunday 2023) Lasting peace however is not just a matter of structures and mechanisms. It rests above all on the adoption of a style of human coexistence marked by mutual acceptance and a capacity to forgive from the heart. We all need to be forgiven by others, so we must all be ready to forgive. Asking and granting forgiveness is something profoundly worthy of humanity; sometimes it is the only way out of situations marked by age-old and violent hatred. Pope St. John Paul II, Message for World Day of Peace 1997

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home – People may well have a growing ecological sensitivity but it has not succeeded in changing their harmful habits of consumption which, rather than decreasing, appear to be growing all the more. (#55)

A PLEDGE FOR PEACE ON ARMISTICE DAY - "War is a crime against humanity. I renounce war, and am therefore determined not to support any kind of war. I am also determined to work for the removal of all causes of war." This is the peace pledge, signed by all members of the Peace Pledge Union. Why not find out more on https://www.ppu.org.uk/
