Congratulations go to the Pope Francis Faith Award P7 champions. All PFFA candidates have been successful and will be receiving their award this Tuesday at St Nicholas’s Primary School. This is great news for the school and both parish communities.
For P5, it is time to start thinking about becoming a candidate. Invitations to enrol will be going out in the new school term, and parish sign up will be arranged at that time too.
Walk, Cycle or Scoot to the Vigil or Sunday Mass next weekend 19th / 20th June - An opportunity to take climate change action! Thinking about the air that we breathe and doing our bit to make it cleaner.
St Nicholas' P7 Leavers’ Masses
P7(2) in St Andrew's at 1.15pm on Monday 21st June
P7(1) in St Joseph's at 1.15pm on Tuesday 22nd June.
We pray for the P7 pupils as they prepare to start high school, that they will grow and flourish and always remain faithful to Christ.
As the Scottish Government and East Dunbartonshire Council are not permitting parental involvement at end of school year events, these Masses are for pupils only. The Masses, however, will be live streamed with each family being given a password link.
Primary 7 Leavers' Parties! These will take place in St Andrew’s Hall for P7(1) on Monday 21st June, and for P7(2) on Wednesday 23rd June. Organisers are busy getting these celebrations arranged.
Are you interested in becoming Catholic? Or do you know someone who is? Year of St Joseph - Don't forget you can write out your petitions and place them under the sleeping St Joseph statue in the church grounds. It's also possible to send in your special petitions by post in a sealed envelope.
Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week – 13 June ~ Indeed, “from the heart of the Gospel we see the profound connection between evangelisation and human advancement”. For Christian communities, this entails a clear commitment to the justice of God’s kingdom through work for the advancement of those who have been “discarded”.
