Gonzaga Lectures 2011—The Lectures take place on the following Tuesdays in Lent—15th, 22nd, 29th March and 19th April.  They start at 7 30pm, admission is free and all lectures will take place in St Aloysius’ Church.  This year our speakers are Fr. J-Glenn Murray SJ, Professor Keith Ward, Professor Tina Beattie and Professor Werner Jeanrond—see notice in the church porch.

Lent
In addition to the 10.00 a.m. Mass, daily, there will be evening Masses on the Wednesdays at 7.00 p.m. beginning on Wednesday 16th March.
Second collections for sick and retired priests fund on Saturday/Sundays exception on S.C.I.A.F Sunday—2nd/3rd April
Deanery Station Mass, celebrated by the Archbishop and clergy of the Deanery at Our Holy Redeemer’s Clydebank on Wednesday 6th April at 7.00 p.m.
Stations of the Cross—Sunday 20th March at 5pm.

Piety Stall
—Has a large selection of cards and gifts on sale both for those celebrating the sacrament of reconciliation and for St. Patrick’s Day.

RCIA—Rite of Election at St Mary’s Calton on Sunday 13th March.  Please pray for Alan McBeth, Keith Sinclair and Susan Morrison and for all the Parish Group who are assisting them.

Feast of St. Patrick—Thursday 17th March

Solemnity of St. Joseph
—Saturday 19th March

St. Patrick’s Night Cabaret—This event is almost sold out.  Please return any unused tickets to D MacLean A.S.A.P.  There is now a waiting list.  Any unsold tickets returned on 19th March will require to be paid for.  The evening will begin prompt at 7 30pm and the meal served at 9pm.  Phone 587 7319.  Donations towards the raffle will be greatly appreciated.

SPRED—Our parish SPRED group will lead the liturgy at the 12 o’clock Mass on Sunday 13th March.  All are invited for refreshments afterwards in the upper hall.

4th International Youth Pro-Life Conference—Loch Lomond Youth Hostel, Friday 18th March—Sunday 20th March.  For booking and information call 0141 221 2094 or email joe@spucscotland.org

S.C.I.A.F.—Lent home boxes are available at the table in the church porch.  Please return them to the box that will be near the Easter tomb.  Thank you.

Choral Group—We hope to form the Choral Group again with a view to singing in the Liturgy at Mass on a regular and more frequent basis.  We are looking urgently for new members and also to welcome back former members whom we hope will now wish to participate once again. Our first occasion will be Easter .  Rehearsals Dates will be announced next weekend.  Many in the parish are members of excellent choirs and we invite you to make this additional commitment to enhance our liturgical celebrations.  Please contact Adrian Finnerty if interested.  For further information 943 1517.

Finance, Fabric Committee Meeting in Presbytery—Tuesday 15th March at 7.00 p.m,

Fairtrade Coffee Morning—The Fairtrade coffee morning raised £140 on the door, plus £6 donation;  £84 from the raffle;  £15 and £12.50 from sales of tablet and pancakes, respectively;  finally sales of £108 of Fairtrade goods from Balmore.  A cheque for £230 has been sent to SCIAF.  Congratulations to Hannah Harltey, Lauren Boyle and Katie Paterson, winners of the Fairtrade quiz and to the raffle winners, the McLaren, Crooks and O’Shea families.  Justice and Peace Group

Baptism Course—Two months notice is required for Baptism.  Please contact Fr. Donnelly to make the arrangements.  Please note that the  next Baptised Preparation Session for parents and Godparent of children being baptised will be on Saturday 7th May from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church (Lower Hall.)

Journey to Easter—The Archdiocese of  Glasgow “Journey to Easter” booklet of reflection and prayer on the Liturgies of Lent is on sale in the Piety stall priced 50p.

Coffee Morning— After 10.00 a.m. on Sunday 20th March in aid of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children.  Donations of homebaking (no nuts please) gratefully received and also donations for a Raffle.  Please come in and give us your support.  Thank you.
