First Communion—Will be celebrated on:-
Sunday 13th May at 10am and 12 noon Masses
Sunday 20th May at 12 noon Mass

St. Andrew’s Primary PTA—Is hosting a Ladies Night on Friday 18th May from 7pm until midnight.  Tickets for entry are £5 and include a cocktail (BYOB).  There will also be a disco, raffle and a variety of fabulous beauty treatments which are available to pre-book.  Please contact Anne MacIntosh on 07866 009078 for more information.

The Piety Stall—Has a large selection of cards and gifts for First Communion as well as an extended range for many other occasions.

Thanksgiving Celebration for all the First Communicants—Because of the Queens Jubilee Holiday—please note the change of date—the children’s thanksgiving celebration will now take place at 10.00 a.m. Mass on Saturday 26th May (at which the First Communion Certificates will be distributed) followed by a party in the Upper Hall.

Andrea Kearney Fund—Tickets are available for the Andrea Kearney Fund Dinner—In the Radisson Hotel, Glasgow on Saturday 19th May 2012 at 7.00 p.m.  This charity is the only one in the UK which offers financial help to women diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy.  The ticket price of £55.00 includes drinks on arrival, a delicious 3-course meal with wine, entertainment from some of Scotland’s most talented singers/musicians, a DJ set with dancing, and plenty of opportunities to bid in the auction or win raffle prizes.  Book a table for 10 and save £5.00 per head on the individual tickets price!  To book tickets, please go to:  www.andreakearney.org or telephone 0141 881 1320.  If you can offer any raffle prizes or items for auction at this special event, please contact Ceit Campbell (St. Andrew’s parishioner) on 0141 942 4831 as soon as possible.  Many thanks. 

Parish Pilgrimage to Florence & Italy—Meeting at the Lower Hall on Tuesday 15th May at 7pm.

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord—On Thursday 17th May.  A Holy Day of Obligation.  Masses—Vigil on Wednesday 16th May at 7pm and on Thursday at 10am and 7pm.

Friday, 18th May—Novena to the Holy Spirit in preparation for Pentecost begins.

Papal World Day of Prayer for Communications—For the Church’s Apostolate in the media and for all who seek to promote it—on Saturday/Sunday 19th/20th May.  Special second collections for the Communications Fund.

Parish Family Walk—As part of our ongoing 25th Celebrations, you are invited to come along and join our family parish walk on Sunday 10th June.  We will meet at 1pm at the Visitors Centre, Mugdock Country Park.  Please bring your own picnic.  The walk will take about 3 hours in total (i.e. there and back) with a break at the half way stage for a rest and a picnic.  Please note that unfortunately the walk is not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.  If you are interested, please contact Veronica Maguire on 0141 942 0607 or email : [email protected]

Interested in life as a diocesan priest ? - A retreat is taking place for those who wish to find out more about life as a diocesan priest.  This event is offered without obligation or commitment from participants.  It will give the opportunity to talk about becoming a diocesan priest in the company of priests, other enquirers and candidates for seminary.  There is no charge for this event.  The event will take place 1st June (6pm) - 2nd June (3pm).  If you would like more information then please contact your diocesan vocations director or the Priests for Scotland office (0141 942 8384)
