and you fill me with the joy of salvation."
This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday ~ As the church won’t be open for Ash Wednesday, here’s a suggestion for your home liturgy which you’ll find on the Bishops of Scotland website and on our social media platforms. Instead of ashes, you could use some dried-out earth from your garden, finely ground charcoal - from your barbeque, or you may have access to ashes from someone’s fire. Whatever you chose to use, the important thing is that we have the interior desire to “turn away from sin and believe the Gospel.” Wishing you a prayerful and fruitful lent.

Day of Prayer for those who have suffered abuse ~ Friday 19th February
In accordance with the wishes of Pope Francis to set aside a Day of Prayer each year for those who have suffered abuse, the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland has designated Friday after Ash Wednesday, which this year falls on Friday 19th February. It is unfortunate that we won't be able to have a public liturgy this year, due to the restrictions, but we will be praying especially at our online 10am Mass on the 19th February for all those who have suffered abuse; praying for all who have been hurt, praying for healing and wholeness.
You might offer a rosary on the 19th for this particular intention or you might light a candle praying for all who are suffering.
