Preparing for the Sacraments.
Meetings for St Nicholas' parents are:

• P4 First Holy Communion - Thursday 26th January 
• P7 Confirmation - Thursday 23rd February 

Both meetings at 6.30pm in St Nicholas’ assembly hall.
 
Please note too these three meetings below which will held in the church for all parents whose children are celebrating the Sacraments in 2023

• First Confession Parents’ Meeting – Thursday 19th January.
• First Holy Communion Parents’ Meeting – Tuesday 31st January.
• Confirmation Parents’ Meeting  - Tuesday 28th   February

These meetings will be at 6.30pm in St Andrew’s church.  
 
Adoration for Vocations - On the first Saturday of each month prayers will be offered for an increase in vocations to the priesthood, consecrated life and the permanent diaconate during the usual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament from 10.00am till 11.00am.  Please consider coming to spend time in adoration and prayer.

St Nicholas’ Primary -  Children whose 5th birthday is between March 2023 and the last day of February 2024 should be registered online between 4th to 20th Jan ‘23 www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/residents/schools-and-learning/primary-school-registration.

Altar Servers. On Sun 8th Jan, four youngsters turned up after the 12 noon Mass for the advertised Altar Server Training Session. Together with three recent recruits and two seasoned Servers, Fr Trias was astounded that St Andrew’s had so many new and keen Servers. All the newcomers (from P5 & P6) said that they had really enjoyed the session and were looking forward to becoming regular Servers, participating in an active role at Mass. There’s room for more newcomers (P4 and upwards); so, mums and dads, just get in touch and training can then be arranged. Next training 22nd Jan at 1pm
 
Young people in P6 – S6   Please join us for NET Ministries Retreat. Sunday 5th February at beginning with 10am Mass, followed by group discussions and activities with the NET Team.   Lunch will be provided. Please register here  https://forms.gle/f4Adbemzjnft2NVu8   
 
Between now and Easter, remember in your prayers, Gemma, Millie and Eleanor who are journeying through RCIA to receive the Sacraments and become Catholic this Easter

Toilet Twinning - Many thanks to all who took part in the world of twinning last year. In the UK 16,250 toilets were twinned and £21.5k raised on JustGiving. Toilet twinning can transform lives. Parish Bulletin: Items for inclusion should be sent in by 6 p.m. on the Tuesday before publication. Copies of the bulletin are available on Facebook, Twitter, the parish website/by email link (to all those on the Parish database) and on the noticeboards in the Church porch and the Church grounds.

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some preparatory act of reverence such as a bow.

Drumchapel Foodbank. Regularly your donations are dropped off at the foodbank by our parish volunteers. Thanks for continuing to give the foodbank your support.   

​Our soup-run volunteers continue to collect donations each night from M&S for delivery to Drumchapel & St Gregory’s Foodbanks, the Wayside Club & Aspire.
