Year of Faith: -Jesus sends out the apostles without being weighed down with extra baggage. Pope Benedict reminds us, “By faith, men and women have consecrated their lives to Christ, leaving all things behind so as to live obedience, poverty and chastity with Gospel simplicity, concrete signs of waiting for the Lord who comes without delay” (PF13) The Year of Faith encourages us to rediscover the simplicity of the Gospel message.
Mark Sanders--Christopher & Margaret and the Sanders family would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy. There have been nearly 400 cards, Mass cards, letters, phone calls and e-mails, not to mention flowers and pot plants, cakes and home baking. Thank you also for your presence at Marks’s funeral. Your very kind generosity resulted in over £2000, half of which we will take to Coll, the other half to be sent to Movember. All of this unexpected and wonderful support has been truly overwhelming and humbling. His memories will live on with fondness. I shall ask Fr. Paul, my brother, to say a Mass for you all on the occasion of Mark’s three months’ mind, in the middle of September.
