Commonwealth Games - the Archdiocese of Glasgow will be hosting a unique event which will explore and celebrate the interweaving of sport, disability and faith. The conference will include leading voices in the field of disability, faith and sport, and Special Olympic and Paralympic athletes will share their stories. Thursday 17 July 9.30am to 5pm at Blessed John Duns Scotus, 270 Ballater Street, G5 0YT. We are looking for two or three parishioners to attend and represent St Andrew’s. Interested in becoming a Catholic? The RCIA Programme (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) will begin in the autumn. RCIA is the process by which adults are received into the Catholic Church. The programme of catechesis and instruction prepares adults for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, usually celebrated at the Easter Vigil. Please speak to Fr. Mackle if you have any questions about receiving the Sacraments as an adult, or if you would like to know more about RCIA and the Catholic faith.

St Andrew’s Primary PTA are thrilled to announce the recent Ladies Charity Night raised a magnificent £2,014.82, which will be divided equally between school funds and Brightest Star. Sincere thanks to those who came along and made it the night it was, to those who couldn’t manage but bought raffle tickets, our sponsors and all those who donated the wonderful raffle prizes.

Coffee Morning - after 10 am mass today. Please come along and join us. this month we are raising funds for St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, Clydebank which has, for over 60 years, offered compassion, dedicated commitment and excellent care to patients with advanced life-limiting illnesses and also to the older person with complex medical and nursing needs. Also, many thanks to everyone who came along to April's coffee morning. The sum of £150 was raised for epilepsy action.

Money-counters. Many thanks to Jim Hanlon and Martin Boyle, who, after many years service and good work, finished up recently as regular money counters and members of the parish’s Fabric & Finance Group. We are grateful to those who kindly responded to our recent appeal and have helped enlarge the money-counters team.
Church Sound System – the decision was taken at the parish’s most recent Fabric & Finance meeting to replace and upgrade the church’s sound system, the total cost of which will be £4740.
Like to train and become a Parish Catechist? To apply for this two-year part-time course, sponsored by the parish, and train to become a parish catechist, speak to Fr Mackle. Children’s Liturgy P1 – P3 & P4 - P7 volunteer leaders and helpers. There will be a meeting this Tuesday 17th June at 7pm in the chapel-house. P1 to P3 Children's liturgy coordinator still needed for the next one or two years, from after summer. Coordinator’s role is to prepare the rota, and liaise with the liturgy leaders. More volunteer helpers also required. Rota is once a month. No particular experience is required, as you will work with an experienced leader for the first few months. PVG clearance is required. Fr Mackle will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of his ordination to the Priesthood on Thursday, 3rd July – Feast of St Thomas. The concelebrated Mass will be at 11am, followed by a presentation and refreshments in the hall. All are very welcome.
