First Communions take place this Saturday and Sunday and next - all at 2pm. We welcome the children and their families for this very special moment on their journey of faith. We thank all who have been involved in helping them to prepare for this day, at school, at home, and in the parish. We pray that the blessings of the Eucharist will stay with the children for a long time to come and that they will become committed members of the Body of Christ.

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some preparatory act of reverence such as a bow.
Sunday Rosary at 4.30pm throughout the Month of May led by the parish’s Legion of Mary.
Sacrament of Confirmation for P7 pupils will be on 4th & 5th June at 2pm. Arrangements have been made for Confessions to be heard in the school next Monday for St Nicholas' pupils. All pupils at schools other than St Nicholas' are encouraged to make an effort to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It's a good way to prepare and be ready to be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit.

New P1 Welcome afternoon - Sunday 12 June 2pm - 3.30pm in the upper hall. Teas / coffees , juice & cakes will be served. An opportunity for new P1 families to get together before starting school, and an introduction to our Parishes’ links with the school, along with some fun and games.

Calling all youth and young adults in St Joseph’s and St Andrew’s: Join with others your age across the Archdiocese of Glasgow on an experience of a lifetime, the World Youth Day trip to Lisbon in 2023.
There is a minimum age 16 from February 1, up to the age of 35 at the time of the trip. Details of costs and dates will be advised soon.

The Big Plastic Count, 16 - 22 May A reminder that across the country, households of all shapes and sizes, schools, community groups and businesses, will gather new evidence and count their plastic for one week – 16-22 May 2022.. This will show how much plastic we are really throwing away, and help push the government, brands and supermarkets to take bold action to tackle the plastic crisis and ban sending our waste to other countries.

Haydn Nelson Mass & Mozart Solemn Vespers will be performed in Glasgow City Halls by Bearsden Choir on Sunday 22nd May at 4pm,together with professional soloists and organ, under the baton of the dynamic Andrew Nunn. The Choir will be celebrating their first live concert since November 2019 after which COVID struck. Tickets still available, although half the seats have already gone.
