A local group of the University of Third Age has been set up for people who are retired or semi-retired. If you would like to learn a new skill and meet like-minded people, the third Tuesday of every month at 11am in the Upper Hall is for you.
Foodbank - Your continued support for this local project is very much appreciated. Currently there is a shortage of the following food and household items:- Pasta sauces, Cereals, Rice, Pot noodles, Flavoured rice, Flavoured pasta, Tins of pasta (e.g. spaghetti hoops), Tins of fish (tuna & sardines), Tins of meat dishes, Tins of fruit, Pudding, UHT milk, Treats (chocolate biscuits, sweets), Squash or cordial, Toothbrush / toothpaste, Toilet paper, Disposable nappies. Although grateful for all that they receive, quantity is what is required at present and they are delighted to take “own brand” or “lower cost brand” items.

Coffee Morning—After 10am Mass, Sunday 17th August. Please come along and join us. Donations of home baking (no nuts please) always gratefully received. This month we are raising funds for St Thomas Convent School, Kurukhetra District, Pehowa, India which takes around 2,000 children, girls and boys from 5-18 in a rural area of the Himalayas. Fr Mathew, the Headmaster, wants to introduce English Language to the school to improve the children’s employment prospects and they need text books, both for the school and to lend to individual children who cannot otherwise afford them. Also, many thanks to everyone who came along to the coffee morning held in June. The sum of £100 was raised for St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, Clydebank. There will also be Tickets on sale at this coffee morning for the Family Fun Night.

SPRED—(Special Religious Development) has been part of the pastoral and catechetical life of the Archdiocese since 1984. Our parish group is a small community of faith meeting on Wednesday evenings during school term from September to May. We would welcome new volunteers to become companions in faith to our friends who have a learning disability and help them take their rightful place within the parish community. A series of three introductory evenings for new volunteers starts on Tuesday 9th September. Why not come along to the first one and give it a try—there’s no commitment at this stage.
