Parish clustering – The parish has been advised of a revised cluster arrangement of St Andrew's, St Benedict's, St Joseph's, and St Laurence's. The first meeting of the PPC executives (chairs, vice-chairs & secretaries) and clergy took place on Tuesday at St Joseph’s at which there was a general discussion about how parishes might deepen relationships of collaboration and mutual support. Our next meeting will be on Thursday 21st at St Andrew’s during which we will look at planning a joint spiritual Lenten event for all four parishes.
 
The St. Andrew’s Squad - (S.A.S.) for all children in the parish preparing for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Please come along and join us on Sunday 31st January from 9.00 – 9.45am in the Lower Hall.  Any queries please contact Margaret Hendry on 563 9993
 
Dates and Times for Primary Three Sacrament of Reconciliation -   During The Season of Lent (10th Feb – 27th March)  Saturdays 10.30am – 11.00am; & 5.15pm – 5.45pm; Sundays 9.15 – 9.40am.
 
First Holy Communion for the Primary 4 children of the parish will be celebrated on Sundays 15th & 22nd May at the 12noon Masses. On Thursday 28th January at 7pm in the Upper Hall, there will be a meeting for all parents.

Year of Mercy – the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy is prayed daily in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel after 10am Mass. Just takes a few minutes. All most welcome.
 
Support in bereavement -  Following on suggestions made at the Parish Consultation last April, a Support in bereavement Group has now been set up in the Parish and is willing to help anyone seeking assistance. If you have suffered a bereavement (not necessarily recently) and feel you could benefit from talking to someone about it, please speak to Father Mackle or Monsignor Ryan.

A talk for young people aged 16 – 25    The baptismal call to evangelise.  A talk by Fr Peter Damian Grint at Turnbull Hall, 21 Jan at 7.30pm. Visit glasfaithforum for details of this series of talks for young people.

The Parish Census Team would be very grateful for your help and assistance this weekend in updating St Andrew’s Parish Register by providing them with your contact details. Even if you have registered before, all Householders are being asked please to fill up a Census Slip.
 
Lost property items will be on display in the porch up until next Sunday, 24th Jan, after which any unclaimed items will go to Oxfam charity shop. Please check the table to see if anything there is yours.
 
Helpers Needed - Children’s Liturgy at the 10am Sunday Mass is for P1 - P7 Children. It is designed to cover the Gospel of the day at a level the children can understand and enjoy. It is enriched with prayers and usually a Gospel related activity. The aim is to make the children’s experience of church meaningful. P1 - P3 children gather in the upper hall, and P4 - P7 in the lower hall. If you are interested in helping out, please email Richard Hartley— [email protected]
 
Invite someone you know back to Mass in this Year of Mercy. All of us know someone who has stopped going to Mass. Invite someone you know who no longer attends to return in this special Year of Mercy.
 
RCIA – please keep in your prayers Jackie and Geoff Harrison who are journeying through the RCIA process of becoming Catholics this Easter.
 
Forty Hours Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will take place here in St Andrew’s on 6th, 7th & 8th March. More details soon.

31 Club Prayer for Vocations -  There is a calendar at the back of the Church. Please initial a day each month when you would offer Mass for Vocations to the Priesthood. Please sign up and pray for vocations for the archdiocese. Pick up a prayer card. If you think God may be calling you to the Priesthood, and for information on evenings of Catechesis, Prayer and Fraternity to help discern your vocation, please contact Vocations Director, Fr  Campbell, [email protected] (339 4315)
