"Come Holy Spirit."

At today’s 12noon Mass, 22 children will celebrate their First Holy Communion, and 26 children at next Sunday’s 12noon Mass. Please keep the first communicants in your prayers. First Communicants Thanksgiving Mass - Sunday 5th June at 10am Mass during which all the first communicants will be presented with their First Holy Communion certificate, and invited after Mass into the hall with their families for a party. Cards and gifts on sale from the piety stall for First Holy Communion and all other occasions. 

Family Fun Summer BBQ - Sunday, 12th June 1.30pm – 4.00pm in St Andrew’s halls and grounds.  Food and Fun for all the Family!  Soft drinks included …otherwise  BYOB.  Adults: £1 Children: 50p. Tickets on sale after all masses. Organised by St Andrew’s, St Benedict’s, St Joseph’s and St Laurence’s cluster. Volunteers are required please to help with this event. Sign up sheet in the porch.

Mass Of Pentecost with the Neophytes – today, Sunday, at 3pm in St Andrew’s Cathedral. Jackie and Geoff Harrison, and members of our RCIA group, will gather with all those from across the archdiocese who were received into the Catholic Church this Easter. All are warmly invited to attend.

Turnbull High School Big Band - Please join us at the Mugdock Park Bandstand today (Sunday 15th May) at 2pm to enjoy a fantastic, uplifting, toe-tapping selection of music in aid of the Glasgow Children's Hospital (formerly Yorkhill Sick Kids). The event is free but collection buckets will be available for donations. We'll bring you sunshine even if there isn't any and send you home dancing!

Thank you very much to everyone who attended and supported last week’s Quiz Night.  The evening was a huge success enjoyed by all and raised a fantastic £1498.20 to assist the young people of our Parish to attend the World Youth Day event this July.  Our grateful thanks also goes to the following local companies who kindly donated raffle prizes: The Property Bureau, Café Crème, Massimo’s, G Salon, Christie’s Butchers and Marks & Spencer’s.

Caritas Award 2016 Well done and many congratulations to Fiona Milligan, a senior Turnbull High pupil in our parish, who will be presented with the Caritas Award on 6th June at the Clyde Auditorium. The Pope Benedict XVI Caritas Award is a sign of her ongoing faith journey in response to God’s call of love. The award celebrates the faith witness which she gives within her home, school and parish, especially helping with the children's liturgy. www.caritasaward.org
Duke of Edinburgh Award. Eleven of our young parishioners are working towards awards - Lucy Goodwin, Jonathan Goodwin, Andrew Holt, Lara Loh, Lucia Martorana, Victoria Maguire, Seonaid McCormack, Emily McDonald, Matthew Milligan, Caragh Pryce and  Calum Silcock. They are assisting in the life of the parish in a number of ways i.e. ‘Children’s Liturgy’, the ‘Piety Stall’ and ‘Passkeeping’. www.dofe.org

World Youth Day - five of our young people - Kathleen Davie, Hannah Hartley, Niall Love, Liam McKechnie, and Caragh Pryce are all looking forward to attending WYD in Krakow 25th  – 31st July. Up to two million are expected to attend. worldyouthday.com/krakow-2016

Pentecost Ecumenical Celebration – this evening Sunday 6.30pm in Castlehill Baptist Church, Castlehill Primary School, Rosslyn Road. Organised by Assocation of Bearsden Churches. All most welcome.

SCIAF thanks everyone in St Andrew's. With match funding from the UK government, our parish's Lenten donation to SCIAF will be £8,206.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion who visit the sick and the housebound – meeting this Thursday, 19th May at 2pm in the chapel-house.

Thank you to the parishioners for the recent donations of £100 and £200 for parish funds.

Church Redecoration – work is expected to begin 27th June and be completed 15th July - Cost £15,952. Church roof repairs now completed – Cost - £7,896

Annual Fundraising Ceilidh for SPRED (Glasgow) Fri 3rd June in St Thomas' s Riddrie where our grand raffle will be drawn. Raffle tickets on sale at Masses 14/15 and 21/22 May. We are very grateful for your support. Lorna Donnelly, 942 0696.

Baptism Course – parents and godparents of children to be baptised soon are asked to attend the next preparation course on Thursday, 2nd June at 7pm.

St. Andrew's Carpet Bowls summer outing Thurs, 16 June. Cardwell Garden Centre for morning coffee, afternoon spent in Largs, and on to Seamill Hydro for High Tea at 5 pm. Bus will leave Roman Rd. at 10 am and return approx. 8.30 pm. Cost to non-members is £20 and those who joined us last year thoroughly enjoyed it. Please contact D.
