"Lift up the light of your face on us,
O Lord."
Parish Pastoral Council Consultation Exercise in the hall after the Vigil and Sunday Masses. Its purpose is to help shape our parish priorities over the next three years, and we would invite your ideas / views on what we can do in the parish to
Deepen our relationship with Jesus.
Develop our parish community.
Reach out to the wider world.
After the Vigil and Sunday Masses, we'd like as many parishioners as possible to come into the hall and share your views. If you're not able to, please feed in your thoughts via email info@standrewsbearsden.co.uk or the hard copy feedback sheet, which will be available next weekend. Final date for all feedback is 3rd May.

Coffee Morning after 10am Mass today. Please come along and join us. This month we are raising funds for littlebigafrica.org.   All the money raised will go directly to the charity to help with projects such as the building of water tanks and eco-stoves. Thank you to all those who came along to last month’s coffee morning. The sum of £150 was raised for SCIAF's 'wee box' appeal, which will be matched by the UK Government. Thank you letter from SCIAF on the notice board. Many, many thanks for your continued support, it is very much appreciated. Veronica & David Maguire.

A Pastoral Letter on the General Election – copies available in the porch.

St Andrew’s Whist Drive will be held on Monday 27th April in the Lower Hall at 7.30pm. All, including beginners, will be made very welcome. We are very friendly and would love to see you there, whatever your ability. Please contact Susan Morrison on 0141 563 7959 or 07580086381 for more information or just come along for a great night.

The Real Dangers of Assisted Suicide. John Deighan will give a talk in the Upper Hall at 7:30pm on Thursday 28th May 2015 in which he will respond to the arguments commonly used to advance assisted suicide, i.e. that it stems from compassion and a respect for personal choice. John is well placed to give this talk having been the Parliamentary Officer for the Catholic Bishops’ Conference for 16 years before recently taking up the position of Chief Executive Officer for the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children. He has been heavily involved in organising the efforts to prevent euthanasia and assisted suicide being legalised in Scotland since the creation of the Scottish Parliament. His talk on this highly topical subject will begin with tea and coffee and there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion afterwards.

Liturgy Group Meeting – this Tuesday, 21st April 7.00 p.m in the chapel-house.  If anyone has any matters they would like discussed, please email elizabeth_reid@ntlworld.com

Thanksgiving Mass to be held here in St Andrew’s next Sunday, 26th April at 2.30pm in memory of Sister Dorothea Sweeney SND and Sister Patrick Chaplin SND who gave years of service to Catholic Education in Notre Dame / St Andrew’s College. All are very welcome.

Legion of Mary Information Evening. We aim to form a group of the Legion of Mary in St Andrew’s (men and women). If you are interested, please come along to an information meeting in the chapel-house on Tuesday, 12th May at 7pm. All are very welcome. There was, at one time, a Legion of Mary in St Andrew’s. Please pray for the success of this intention to form, once again, a Legion.

Concert in aid of the Red Cross Defibrillator Appeal on Sunday 26th April at 6.30pm in the Baptist Church on Roman Rd. The music, played by the Fotheringay Chamber Orchestra, will last about an hour and will be followed by tea, coffee and delicious home-baking. For more information see poster in the Church porch or phone Catherine Suckling 942 6984.

Final day for SCIAF wee boxes is today, Sunday, 19th Apr, in order for SCIAF to ensure all money is in on time to be doubled as part of the UK Aid match scheme.
