"An eternal and universal kingdom.
a kingdom of truth and life,
a kingdom of holiness and grace,
a kingdom of justice, love and peace."

We’re delighted to welcome back St Aloysius’ Schola to our 10am Mass this morning. Our Christmas Fair Coffee Morning is on after the Mass.

We look forward to extending a very warm welcome to Archbishop Nolan, who will be with us for all the Masses next weekend.

We said farewell to Monsignor Ryan last week as he prepared to take up his new appointment in St Patrick’s, Dumbarton. We will, however, have a Mass of thanksgiving for him and a presentation which will be arranged as soon as possible.

Catholic Education Sunday – 27th November - reflecting upon the  Synod theme of Participation, Mission and Communion. We look forward to welcoming pupils and staff from St Nicholas’ and Turnbull High, and we are delighted that Archbishop Nolan will be with us. A 2nd collection will be taken up to support the vital work of SCES.  There’s also an appeal for teachers, so anyone who would like information on becoming a teacher in a Catholic school should please contact the Scottish Catholic Education Service: [email protected].

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - The church would betray its own love for God and its fidelity to the gospel if it stopped being . . . a defender of the rights of the poor . . . a humaniser of every legitimate struggle to achieve a more just society . . . that prepares the way for the true reign of God in history.Saint Óscar Romero

Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - Some studies warn that an acute water shortage may occur within a few decades unless urgent action is taken. The environmental repercussions could affect billions of people; it is also conceivable that the control of water by large multinational businesses may become a major source of conflict in this century. (#31)

World Toilet Day - 19th November - How often do we count our blessings like having a toilet, an everyday essential that millions of people still don’t have?  1.7 billion people don’t have somewhere safe and hygienic to go to the toilet.  In Ivory Coast, more than three-quarters of the population lacks a loo.  But toilet twinning can transform lives. It’s simple, its fun but it's also really, really important.  Our church has recently twinned its 4 toilets with 1 each in Afghanistan, Cote d’Ivoire, Honduras and DRC.   To find out more and get twinning, visit www.toilettwinning.org

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some preparatory act of reverence such as a bow.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – each Saturday from 10.00am until 11.00am with confessions throughout. Please consider coming to spend time in adoration and prayer.
