Welcome to Fr Matthew, who is visiting Scotland and our parish this weekend. He is particularly keen to visit St Andrew’s as one of our Coffee Mornings raised some money for his school in northern India, St Thomas Convent School, Sandholi, Pehowar, in the Diocese of Chandigarh.

Youth Evangelisation Team. There are more youth retreats in the pipeline for our parish. 24th Oct for 12 – 16 years. Format: Youth Vigil Mass followed with catechesis, witness statement and a social in the hall. Also, themed retreats with P6/7 pupils reflecting the “This Is Our Faith” curriculum. More information will be provided at the start of the new school year.
We had an incident in the hall on Thursday 11th June in which contents were stolen from a handbag. This happened shortly after the morning Mass. We would remind everyone please do not leave any valuables unattended in the hall or in the church. Handbags are not always safe in the church. You may wish to take your handbag with you as you go up for holy communion.

The Bishops Conference of Scotland is reluctantly having to cancel “Catholic Youth Festival Stirling 2015” due to a lack of up-take on a National level.
The pilgrimage to Carfin in September will now not be taking place this year. Instead the national pilgrimage for 2015 will be on the 4th July at Kynoch Park, Keith, the birthplace of St John Ogilvie, as part of the celebrations for the 400th anniversary of his martyrdom. The day, "showcasing Catholic life" will begin at 12 noon. Mass will be celebrated at 3pm.

The RCIA Programme (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) will begin in the autumn. RCIA is the process by which adults are received into the Catholic Church. The programme of catechesis and instruction prepares adults for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, usually celebrated at the Easter Vigil. Please speak to Fr. Mackle or Monsignor Ryan if you have any questions about receiving the Sacraments as an adult, or if you would like to know more about RCIA and the Catholic faith.
