Annual Crib Donations are vital for the solvency and running of St Margaret’s as the UK’s only Catholic adoption agency. St Margaret’s take home Crib Boxes available in the porch to be returned, please, by Sunday, 2nd Feb. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. St Margaret’s aims to ensure that every child has the right to grow up in a safe, loving and secure family environment.
Christmas 5pm Vigil Mass is the most enjoyable and busiest Mass in our calendar. As the church is extremely busy, to help ease congestion and from a health and safety perspective it would be very much appreciated if those in attendance could adhere to the following:
a) Wheel chair users will be asked to sit at the rear of the main church with their carers seated in the blue chairs
b) Prams, buggies and walking frames should be stored in the Upper Hall (passkeepers will ensure their security).
Passkeepers will be on hand to assist with these changes which will hopefully add to the enjoyment of the Mass and your co-operation will be greatly appreciated.
Invite someone you know back to Mass this Christmas. All of us know someone who has stopped going to Mass. Invite someone you know, who no longer attends, to think about coming along this Christmas.
On behalf of the whole family, Graham Silcock would like to thank everybody for their wonderful support following the sudden death of his mother, Mary Silcock. The Mass cards, expressions of condolence & sympathy, the flowers, the many kind words and the attendance at the Vigil and Funeral Mass, have all been of great comfort to the family at this difficult time.
We look forward to all families, who have had a celebration of Baptism within the past year, gathering together for the 10am Mass Sunday, 19th January, 2020. After Mass, there will be refreshments served in the parish hall to which everyone is invited.
Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - 22 December We must not seek the child Jesus in the pretty figures of our Christmas cribs. We must seek him among the undernourished children who have gone to bed at night with nothing to eat. Saint Óscar Romero

SVDP: On behalf of the parish’s conference a big thank you for your generosity and support throughout the past year. Have a happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. Thank you again, Gerard O’Callaghan (President St Andrew’s SVDP)
Real Gifts That Change Lives The Catechism of the Catholic Church (no. 1397) states that "The Eucharist commits us to the poor. To receive in truth the Body and Blood of Christ given up for us, we must recognise Christ in the poorest, his brethren.” SCIAF’s Christmas Real Gifts make great presents for family and friends while helping people in poverty to build a better future. The parish catalogue is now available at the back of the church. Alternatively you can visit www.sciaf.org.uk/realgifts to find out more or call 0141 354 5555.
