Power in My Hands: a film that uncovers the beauty, timelessness and power of the rosary.Its primary purpose is to help viewers understand the power of the Rosary and instil an active response to the Blessed Mother’s plea for prayer.Hope through Jesus Christ is the ultimate goal of this film. This one day event gathers parents from all other dioceses and offers offers support, encouragement and the opportunity to talk with other parents about the challenges and joys of sharing faith with children and young people in today’s world. event is free. Mary’s Mealswill be visiting the parish to collect any unwanted clothing, rags etc for recycling on Sunday 2nd September.They regret that they cannot take duvets and pillows. They will also sell raffle tickets after each Mass
Monsignor Henry, who is buried in New Kilpatrick Cemetery, Boclair Road, was parish Priest of St Andrew’s from 1978 – 1995.To mark the anniversary of his death, the rosary will be prayed at his grave for the peaceful repose of his soul and for the eternal rest of all the faithful departed. All are most welcome. Please gather at the cemetery gates at 3pm on Sunday 5th August, the day before his anniversary.
30th July is World Day against People trafficking which is the fastest growing crime globally. At any given time, an estimated 2.5 million people are trapped in modern-day slavery. Men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers both in their own countries and abroad. Every country in the world is affected by human trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination for victims. Free Concert - Dementia Friendly Parish - Alzheimer Scotland are hosting a Musical Memory Summer concert partnership with The Nevis Ensemble, a brand new street orchestra for Scotland, and in celebration of the European Championships on Thursday 2ndthe Tickled Trout Pub & Restaurant ( next to Dobbies ), 10am( orchestra will play from 10.30am ).Concert is free and open to all in the community.
