Calling all young people. How do the sacraments lead us to become“fully mature with the fullness of Christ”?Come along to the Glasgow Faith Forum’s fortnightly talks this autumn to find out– Turnbull Hall, University of Glasgow Catholic Chaplaincy. 20th SeptemberThe Sacraments as God’s masterpiece in the life of His people by Fr Kevin Douglas. Power in My Hands: a film that uncovers the beauty, timelessness and power of the rosary.Its primary purpose is to help viewers understand the power of the Rosary and instil an active response to the Blessed Mother’s plea for prayer.Hope through Jesus Christ is the ultimate goal of this film. UK premiere at, Fort Shopping Centre, Glasgow 26th at 7.30pm. Free bus from St Andrew’s Cathedral at 6.30pm and St Columba’s parish at 7pm. Tickets £10 at www.eventbrite.co.uk from St Columba’s Parish. Net proceeds will help take young people and sick people to Lourdes in September 2018.
 
There will be an annual gathering for parentson 18thAugust in St. Charles’, Paisley. This one day event gathers parents from all other dioceses and offers offers support, encouragement and the opportunity to talk with other parents about the challenges and joys of sharing faith with children and young people in today’s world. event is free. Daily Mass is celebrated in St Andrew’s Monday to Saturday at 10am. All are most welcome.  Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is every Saturday from after 10am Mass until 12.30pm  
 
Catholic?Not baptised? Baptised in another faith?  RCIA programme of learning and instruction will begin in the autumn. Please speak to Fr. Mackle if you would like to know more about RCIA and the Catholic faith.
 
Calling all children from Primary 6 to Secondary in St Andrew’s & St Joseph’s. There will be a fun night on Saturday 1stSeptember from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. in St Joseph’s Hall, Milngavie with games, open mic, disco, food & fun. 
 
All Primary 7 pupils and families, the Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated in St Joseph’s Church at 7pm on Thursday 29thNovember.Enrolment forms available in the porch to be returned, please, by 19thAugust.
 
Our new school, St Nicholas,will open on 16th August. There will be an Opening Mass with Blessing of the St Nicholas Candles on Thursday 30thAugust at 11am.

The Caritas Award 2019 So far, five of our young parishioners have signed up.Still not too late if you would like to become a Caritas candidate. If you are interested in learning about the Caritas award, speak to Fr. Mackle or contact Elizabeth Reid [email protected]

Archdiocese has issued parishes with a new email address, which is hosted on the cloud and offers the enhanced security demanded by the new GDPR Legislation. Nigerian Catholic Community Harvest & Bazaar: Sunday, 5th August at St Roch's G21 2HNT at 1 pm ( with the Thanksgiving Mass) All most welcome.
 
Church Cleaning - we could still do with a few more volunteers.  Can you help out? You would be part of a team and be on just once a month for just a couple of hours. If interested, please contact  942 4635 / [email protected]   There will be a meeting in the church for all volunteers on Monday 6thAugust after 10am Mass. Many thanks.
 
Day Trip to Carfinfor the National Pilgrimage Mass and Rosary Procession. Sunday, September 2nd.  Bus will leave from the Hub at Bearsden Cross at 1pm and return 7.30pm. Cost £3. Please sign sheet in porch, if you would like to go.
 
Mary’s Mealswill be visiting the parish to collect any unwanted  clothing, rags etc for recycling on Sunday 2nd September.They regret that they cannot take duvets and pillows. They will also sell raffle tickets after each Mass
 
Monsignor Henry, who is buried in New Kilpatrick Cemetery, Boclair Road, was parish Priest of St Andrew’s from 1978 – 1995.To mark the anniversary of his death, the rosary will be prayed at his grave for the peaceful repose of his soul and for the eternal rest of all the faithful departed. All are most welcome. Please gather at the cemetery gates at 3pm on Sunday 5th August, the day before his anniversary.
 
30th July is World Day against People trafficking which is the fastest growing crime globally. At any given time, an estimated 2.5 million people are trapped in modern-day slavery. Men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers both in their own countries and abroad. Every country in the world is affected by human trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination for victims. Please say a prayer and be aware of victims of human trafficking, Thank you. St Andrew’s & St Joseph’s  Justice & Peace group.
 
Free Concert - Dementia Friendly Parish - Alzheimer Scotland are hosting a Musical Memory Summer concert partnership with The Nevis Ensemble, a brand new street orchestra for Scotland, and in celebration of the European Championships on Thursday 2ndthe Tickled Trout Pub & Restaurant ( next to Dobbies ), 10am( orchestra will play from 10.30am ).Concert is free and open to all in the community. Drumchapel Foodbank Collection. If you are able to bring one or two non-perishables to Mass at the weekend (tins of soup, beans, meats etc., pasta, rice, toiletries, nappies - baby size 5, 6 & 7 needed) and leave in the containers in the porch, these would be gratefully received.  Many thanks. 
 
The church will continue to be open until 7pm each Tues & Fri until 4 Septemberfor anyone who might want to call in for some peace and quiet prayer time.
 
Our Parish Library has a very extensive range of books and DVDs covering a wide variety of religious topics. We would like to encourage you to have a look at the books and DVDs.
 
Divine Mercy Novena is prayed weekdays after morning Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. All most welcome.
