Volunteers – We recently had to provide the archdiocese with the number of volunteers in our parish as this information has been requested by the parish's insurance company. We have 296, which is a terrific number, many of whom do more than one thing. If you would like to get involved as a volunteer in an area of parish life, please do get in touch.

30th July is World Day against People trafficking which is the fastest growing crime globally.any given time, an estimated 2.5 million people are trapped in modern-day slavery. Men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers both in their own countries and abroad. Every country in the world is affected by human trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination for victims. The Legion of Mary - new members always welcome. The Legion sees as its priority the spiritual and social welfare of each individual. Members participate in the life of the parish through visitation of families, and the sick, both in their homes and in hospitals. Every legionary is required to carry out two hours apostolic work each week. The object of the Legion of Mary is the Glory of God through the holiness of its members developed by prayer and active cooperation in Mary’s and the Church’s work. St Andrew’s Parish’s Legion meets on Tuesdays at 7.30pm in the Hut.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – each Saturday from 10.30am until 12.30pm. Please consider coming to spend time in adoration and prayer each Saturday. We would like to have a number of adorers for each half hour. Sign up sheet for you to initial or sign is in the porch.
Urgent Appeal - Drumchapel food bank are in real need of additional supplies. During the summer holidays, school meals are not provided so the need is even greater than usual. As well as the usual items, some treats for kids would be much appreciated. If you could leave in the porch, these are taken down each Monday. Many thanks.

Monsignor Henry, who is buried in New Kilpatrick Cemetery, Boclair Road, was parish Priest of St Andrew’s from 1978 – 1995. The contribution he made to the development of St. Andrew’s, particularly in driving forward the construction of the present church building, was immense. In this Golden Jubilee Year, and on the anniversary of his death, the rosary will be prayed at his grave for the peaceful repose of his soul and for the eternal rest of all the faithful departed. All are most welcome. Please gather at the cemetery gates at 2pm on Sunday, 6th August.
Abortion Petition –the British Medical Association has sadly voted to call for the decriminalisation of abortion. To show our desire to protect innocent life SPUC have asked us to sign a petition in opposition to the campaign to extend abortion. This is available at the back of the church – please sign it and show your concern to defend those who cannot defend themselves.
