"Lord, you give us Christ,
the King of all creation as food for everlasting life."
New style Reachout – you should be receiving yours soon from your messenger, along with this year’s parish Christmas card. If you are new to the parish, or have recently changed your address, please let us know by filling in a registration form from the porch. Also available on this link

St Andrew’s Whist Drive will be held on Monday 24th November in the Lower Hall at 7.30pm. All, including beginners, will be made very welcome. We are very friendly and would love to see you there, whatever your ability. Please contact Susan Morrison on 0141 563 7959 or 07580086381 for more information or just come along for a great night.

Nomination Forms for Parish Pastoral Council membership will be available in the porch next week. Please think about who you would like to nominate to become a member. We are particularly looking for parishioners who would represent, on the PPC, the youth of the parish.

Remember the Dead—The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered up every day during the month of November for the Holy Souls. Remembering the souls of the faithful departed, and praying for them is a “holy and wholesome thought.”

Turnbull Times—Pick up from the porch a copy of Turnbull’s most recent newsletter.

An Advent Challenge – many people, less than a mile from us, are hungry. Can we help? Yes. If each person attending weekend Mass in St Andrew’s could bring just one food item each week in Advent, we could make a difference. Tins or packets of everyday food and household goods are in great demand, especially those food items which can be heated without using a lot of fuel. The need is real. Please help.

Regarding the pastoral practice of young children who haven’t made their First Communion being given a blessing at communion time, parents please note that Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are commissioned only to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful. Parents who wish their child to receive a blessing must come forward in the communion line to the priest.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, who visit the sick and housebound of the parish, please note the change of date. The next meeting will now be Thursday, 27th November at 7pm in the chapel-house.

St Andrew’s Primary Open Day – 5th December. All are most welcome to visit.

Registration of children for St Andrew’s Primary 2015/2016. Monday 12th – 16th January 2015. 1.30pm – 3.00pm. See noticeboard for more details.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported this year’s Christmas Fair last Sunday. Sincere thanks also to Veronica Maguire and the fabulous team of folk who helped with serving the teas and coffees, to the providers of the home baking, to those who helped us set up and put away all of the tables and chairs and to everyone who helped us serve in the stall – we are extremely grateful to you all for your assistance. We are delighted to tell you that £180.00 was raised for “Inclusive Skating” from the sale of teas, coffees and homebaking. Annamaria Strachan and Anne MacIntosh

Five things I can do to promote Vocations to the priesthood as a teacher. Please pick up a copy of the ‘five things’ leaflet from the porch.
