Update to Archdiocesan Parish Clustering Initiative St Andrew’s, St Benedict’s and St Joseph’s

Primary 6 Retreat Day
, this Thursday 27th Oct will be led by the Salesian Sisters, who will be assisted by the parish’s Youth Ministry Team. Theme – Living My Faith retreat day will provide the young people with opportunities to develop their awareness of God’s presence in their lives, and how this affects their relationship with others.
 
Thanks to all who came along and supported last Sunday's coffee morning for SCIAF. The sum raised was £136. Many thanks for your continued generosity and support and to all those who helped clear away at the end. Veronica and David Maguire.
 
Preparing for Advent 2016 – Canon Michael McMahon will be providing two talks at 7pm on Thursday 10th and 17th November in the Upper Hall to help us prepare for Advent. All most welcome. See poster for more details.
 
Annual Mission Sunday Appeal this weekend. We pray for the Church in her mission to proclaim God’s Mercy throughout the world. For the second collection, those who Giftaid are kindly asked, please, to use a Giftaid Mission Appeal envelope available from the porch. This will add 25% of the value of your offering at no extra cost to yourself.
 
Church Halls—Both halls are available at weekends for birthday parties, christenings, anniversary parties, fund raisers, weddings and funerals. Mass for all newly married couples of 2016 will be held on Sunday 13th November at 3pm in St Andrew’s Cathedral. A personal invitation has been sent from Archbishop Tartaglia to all couples married in 2016.

Mass of Commitment for Primary Three families will be at 10am next Sunday 30th October.

Drumchapel Foodbank – Donations of items of sustainable foods eg tins, pasta, cereals, toiletries, e.g toilet rolls, kitchen rolls always gratefully received. Collection boxes in the porch are taken every Monday morning to the Foodbank. Thank you for your help.
 
Mass for the Dead of the Past Year – takes place on Sunday 6th November at 12noon Mass. The families of those who have lost a loved one over the past year have been invited but, of course, everyone is welcome who wishes to pray for those whom they have lost. Refreshments will be served in the hall after Mass.
 
Support in bereavement Group
- anyone seeking assistance, who is suffering a bereavement (not necessarily recently) and feels they could benefit from talking to someone about it, please speak to Father Mackle or Monsignor Ryan.
 
Annual  Pro-Life Torchlight Procession this Thursday 27th Oct beginning at 6pm from George Square followed with a Mass in the Cathedral. All most welcome
 
Ladies' Glamorous Night in Aid of the White Lily Fund which raises money 
for Cancer Research in the West of Scotland— Friday 18th November at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Champagne Reception, Stalls, Dinner and Dancing. Tickets £50.00 each.
