"For ever I will sing the goodness of the Lord."

O come, let us adore Him! Please note that there will be one Mass only on Christmas Eve morning, and one Mass only on Christmas morning

Christmas Eve - 5p.m. and 9p.m. (8.30p.m. Carol Service)
Christmas Day - one Mass only at 10.30a.m.
Boxing Day 26th December - No Mass.

Tuesday 2nd January - No Mass

Happy Christmas School Holiday! All at St Andrew's wish all children, young people and teachers a safe and happy Christmas school holiday.

Invite someone you know back to Mass this Christmas Season. All of us know someone who has stopped going to Mass. Invite someone you know, who no longer attends, to think about coming along this Christmas Season.

The crib in the church and the two cribs in our grounds will remain up for 40 days through to Candlemas on 2nd February. Why not keep yours up in your home until then? It allows us to adore the new-born Christ for longer. If you’re out for a stroll, call in for a wee prayer before our outdoor cribs.

Annual Crib Donations are vital for the running of St Margaret's as the UK's only Catholic adoption agency. St Margaret's aims to ensure that every child has the right to grow up in a safe, loving and secure family environment.

Sunday 7th January 2024 – Feast of the Epiphany, all families who have had a Baptism in the past year are invited to attend the 10:00a.m. Mass. The Coffee Morning will follow to coincide. The Parish will make a donation to the relevant charity so that it is free for those who attend.

'One Candle at a time' is a short video...about the victory of Light over Darkness...and a somewhat interactive Advent Calendar - in Church and at Home. View on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@awordinyourear

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week-Sunday 24th December 2023
Together we can make a difference bringing peace, joy, caring, love to our world that is losing sight of our guiding star—the goodness of the real God. Sr. Dorothy Stang SNDdeN

Laudato Si’ – On Care for our Common Home – On many concrete questions, the Church has no reason to offer a definitive opinion; she knows that honest debate must be encouraged among experts, while respecting divergent views. But we need only take a frank look at the facts to see that our common home is falling into serious disrepair.  (#61)

Next Thursday 28th December is the Feast of the Holy Innocents.  On this day we are reminded, as well, that all lives are precious, and it is our responsibility to protect every life from the moment of conception to natural death.

Children’s Choir Dates at 10a.m. Mass St Andrew’s Church. If your child is not at St Nicholas’ and they would like to join the choir, please contact Annamaria ([email protected]/0141942 9799) to arrange rehearsal links: 25th December- 10:30a.m. Mass

Unity Lunch ~ Date for your diary: Unity Lunch, organised by the Association of Bearsden Churches, will take place on Saturday 20th January 2024 in Baljaffray Parish Church at 12 Noon.  The Speaker is Michelle Candlish, the National Scottish Development Manager, from ‘Linking Lives UK’, a charity organisation working towards putting an end to loneliness.
Tickets cost £8 are available from Margaret Sanders on 0141 942 7519.

The Church is open until 5p.m. Monday to Saturday. Call in and enjoy the peace and quiet, and take time to sit in the stillness in the silence of God.

Tea is served in the hut after daily Mass Monday to Thursday. All most welcome.

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some act of reverence such as a bow.
