Catholic Education Week – 31st Jan – 6th February. Theme “Learning to be Merciful”. News, information and good resources for teachers, parents and students resources at www.sces.org.uk. Pick up a copy of SCES Newsletter featuring news of recent and forthcoming developments in education. A special message from Archbishop Tartaglia will be read at all Masses on Education Sunday, 31st January, and St Andrew’s and Turnbull High will be invited to attend and take part in the 10am Mass. Come in and enjoy tea, coffee and cakes afterwards --- all free.
Revised cluster arrangement of St Andrew's, St Benedict's, St Joseph's, and St Laurence's. A joint spiritual Lenten event for all four parishes is being organised, as well as a social event, which will take place sometime in June. More details to follow soon.
World Youth Day meeting for candidates and their families in the upper hall on Sunday 7th Feb at 11am. Youth planning meeting this Monday 25th Jan at 7pm in the chapel-house.

Sacrament of Reconciliation – Times for First Confession for Primary Three. During The Season of Lent (10th Feb – 27th March). Saturdays 10.30am – 11.00am; & 5.15pm – 5.45pm; Sundays 9.15 – 9.40am. Family members are encouraged too to take the opportunity to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
First Holy Communion for the Primary 4 children of the parish will be celebrated on Sundays 15th & 22nd May at the 12noon Masses. This Thursday 28th January at 7pm in the Upper Hall, there will be a preparation meeting for all parents.
The Parish Census Team thanks all those who completed a census slip last weekend. If you have still to complete one, they’d be very grateful if you would do so this weekend. Forms are available in the porch. Many thanks.
Faith Formation Group met recently to organise Evening Lenten Reflections, Scripture reflections after weekday Lenten Mass, as well as faith formation sessions during the Easter Season. More details to follow soon.
Nullity of Marriage – If you wish (or someone you know wishes) any information about approaching the tribunal to see about a declaration of nullity of marriage then please speak to one of the priests. Remember too that the marriage tribunal no longer charges fees, so that for most people there will be no costs involved.

Year of Mercy – the Chaplet to the Divine Mercy is prayed daily in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel after 10am Mass. Just takes a few minutes. Invite someone you know back to Mass in this Year of Mercy. All of us know someone who has stopped going to Mass. Invite someone you know who no longer attends to return in this special Year of Mercy.
Support in bereavement - Following on suggestions made at the Parish Consultation last April, a Support in bereavement Group has now been set up in the Parish and is willing to help anyone seeking assistance. If you have suffered a bereavement (not necessarily recently) and feel you could benefit from talking to someone about it, please speak to Father Mackle or Monsignor Ryan.

Helpers Needed - Children’s Liturgy at the 10am Sunday Mass is for P1 - P7 Children. It is designed to cover the Gospel of the day at a level the children can understand and enjoy. It is enriched with prayers and usually a Gospel related activity. The aim is to make the children’s experience of church meaningful. P1 - P3 children gather in the upper hall, and P4 - P7 in the lower hall. If you are interested in helping out, please email Richard Hartley [email protected]
