“Hosanna to the Son of David;
blessed is the he who comes in the name of the Lord;
hosanna in the highest.”

Way of the Cross – Monday 25th March at 7.30p.m. with our friends from the Association of Bearsden Churches followed by refreshments in the hall. All most welcome.

Lenten Stations of the Cross ~ Fridays at 6p.m. Church open daily until 5p.m.

Crosses and statues are covered. This ancient liturgical custom of using veils, of hiding Christ from the world, of hiding Him from our sight (and the saints) is to help us in our preparation for ~ and really to assist us in becoming focused solely on the mysteries of His passion - the sufferings Christ endured for our redemption.

Holy Thursday-
  • Morning Prayer 10a.m. (Mass of the Chrism at St Andrew's Cathedral 11.00a.m.)
  • Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7.00p.m.
  • Night Prayer 10p.m.
Good Friday-
  • Morning Prayer 10a.m.
  • Solemn Liturgy of the Passion 3p.m.
  • Stations of the Cross 7p.m.
Holy Saturday-
  • Morning Prayer 10a.m.
  • Easter Vigil 7p.m followed by refreshments. (No 5p.m Vigil)
Easter Sunday
  • Mass 10a.m.
  • Mass 12 Noon

The Second Collection during Lent is taken up to support our sick and retired priests.

Catholic…? Thinking about it…? Know someone who is…? Please speak to Fr. Mackle if you would like to know more about becoming Catholic and the RCIA process.

ボニー・スコットランドへようこそ   Welcome to Bonnie Scotland. Next Sunday at our 10a.m Mass, we look forward to welcoming 12 students and their teachers from Japan

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - Sunday 24th March (Feast of Óscar Romero)
A church that doesn't provoke any crises, a gospel that doesn't unsettle, a word of God that doesn't get under anyone’s skin, a word of God that doesn't touch the real sin of the society in which it is being proclaimed — what gospel is that? Saint Óscar Romero

Laudato Si’ – On Care for our Common Home Each community can take from the bounty of the earth whatever it needs for subsistence, but it also has the duty to protect the earth and to ensure its fruitfulness for coming generations. (#67)

Laudato Si  ~ This Tuesday, St Nicholas' pupils and staff will celebrate a special Holy Week Laudato Si prayer service accepting the invitation to become a 'Laudato Si' school. We wish them all the very best as they start the Laudato Si journey of being protectors and lovers of God's gift of creation.

CHRISM AND ASHES Lent is a wonderful time to revisit our Baptism which, for many of us, is like a hidden treasure deep within us. This Playlist is a snapshot of Baptism…peppered with a few ‘Calls to action’. Chrism And Ashes.

Holy Week - Looking through the lens of ‘hindsight’ we easily identify with Jesus' group of disciples and are shocked at how similar we are to them. In many ways we are still ‘fast asleep’…During Holy Week, let’s make a special effort to keep Jesus company through prayer.

PASSION PLAY – TUESDAY 26 MARCH – 13:00 & 19:30 – NEW KILPATRICK PARISH CHURCH.

Volunteers are urgently needed to lead Children’s Liturgy of the Word at 10a.m. Mass on Sundays. (resources, support, training, and lots of info provided including guidance regarding safeguarding requirements). Children's Liturgy is on during school term time, and you would be part of a rota. If you would be interested in volunteering for this important ministry or learning more about Children’s Liturgy, please contact Sharon and Alan at [email protected]. If you did volunteer recently and have submitted your application to Safeguarding, please do get in touch to give an update. Many thanks.

Just to keep you posted regarding the Parishes/Archdiocesan programme of looking to the future. The stage we are at now is that the Archbishop has asked Pastoral Area Councils to look at how best pastoral care can be provided for the next five to ten years within their own pastoral area. St Andrew’s & St Joseph’s Pastoral Area Council will meet on 4th April to discuss this, and any proposals which emerge are to be submitted to the Archbishop by 19th May. We'll keep you fully advised. With the falling number of practising Catholics, the current shortage of priests, and with a vocations dearth, the Archbishop is undoubtedly faced with having to take tough and difficult decisions. Do keep him and the Archdiocese in your prayers.

Children’s Choir Dates 10a.m. Mass St Andrew’s Church. If your child is not at St Nicholas’ and they would like to join the choir, please contact Annamaria ([email protected]/0141942 9799) to arrange rehearsal links: 31st March, 21st April, 12th May, 9th & 16th June 10a.m. Mass.

First Holy Communion will be on Sunday 19th May at 12 Noon.
Save the date: For all the First Communicants and their families, there will be a Mass of Thanksgiving at 10a.m. on Sunday 9th June followed by a big First Holy Communion party.

The Church is open until 5p.m. Monday to Saturday. Call in and enjoy the peace and quiet and take time to sit in the stillness in the silence of God.

Tea is served in the hut after daily Mass Monday to Thursday. All most welcome.

Before receiving Holy Communion, we are asked to make some act of reverence such as a bow.
