Lent has begun, and during this time the Rosary will be prayed from Monday to Friday at 9.30am, with Mass at 10am. Stations of the Cross are on Fridays at 6pm. Church open daily until 5pm.
Adoration for Lent: Do come and spend some time each week to be still before God at our Saturday Adoration. If shopping at the cross, or out for a coffee, pop in to St Andrew's for some quiet prayer. Have a heart to heart with God each Saturday during Lent from 10am until 11am , with Confessions throughout. Sunday Confessions will be from 9.15am until 9.45am.
Between now and Easter, please keep in your prayers Gemma and Millie who look forward to being received into the Church at Easter. A step on the way to Easter for them is the Rite of Election this afternoon (Sunday) in the Cathedral.
I am making a special appeal for volunteers, please. After the 8th April Easter Vigil and after 8th May Confirmation Mass, we would like to have receptions in the hall. To do this on both occasions, we need volunteers to help with hall set up and clear up, and making teas and serving sandwiches. If we could have a group for each evening it would good. Save your empty jars, egg boxes and sandwich bags for our Lenten 4th/5th March Appeal for St Gregory’s Foodbank. Please bring them along to Mass next weekend.

Legion of Mary welcome any volunteers Active and Auxiliary, who would like to join them in their work within the Parish. Active Membership involves attending a meeting each week for one-and-a-half hours where the rosary is prayed and then business discussed, ensuing from the meeting, work is allocated and carried out in the days following the meeting, usually a further one-and-a-half hours work. The role of Auxiliary Members is to pray the rosary and say the prayers of the Legion for the work of the Legion within the Parish and worldwide. Laudato Si’ - On Care for our Common Home - Greater investment needs to be made in research aimed at understanding more fully the functioning of ecosystems and adequately analysing the different variables associated with any significant modification of the environment. (#42)

The Befriending Service for adults provides social support by way of chatting: by phone, in groups or with one volunteer. We have social events and a new service for school children. Anyone who needs the service or wants to volunteer can chat with Brian or Alyson in the hall at the coffee morning on Sunday 19th March
