Coffee Morning – today after 10am Mass. Please come in and join us for a cuppa in the hall. This month we are raising funds for Epilepsy Action which is the UK’s leading epilepsy organisation. This charity exists to improve the lives of everyone affected by the condition and to support people every step of the way through living with the condition.
Our prayerful good wishes and many congratulations to John Harper and Robbie McKechnie who were baptised at the Easter Vigil and received the Sacraments for the first time.
Very many thanks to all those who worked so hard in so many ways with the liturgical, musical and social preparations for the Ceremonies of Holy Week and the Easter Triduum, and to all for their participation in the Liturgies. With all good wishes for a joyful and blessed Easter Season.
To the children and the children’s liturgy catechists for decorating the cross on the sanctuary with their Easter flowers – very many thanks. The cross will remain for the 50 days of the Easter Season until Pentecost Sunday.

The Kelvin Choir, who hold rehearsals on Tuesday evenings in the Upper Hall, will hold their Summer concert at 7.30 pm Saturday 10th of May in Ruchill Parish Church in Maryhill (beside McDonalds). The concert will feature The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by Karl Jenkins. Tickets are £12 for adults, £5 for under 16. Tickets can be purchased on the door or at www.kelvinchoir.com
Glasgow Catholic Youth Festival - One Way Day - Saturday 17th May is a festival of faith for young people in S3 and above based on Jesus' words "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life". Which way? What is truth? How do I live the life? - Come and see! St Andrew’s Whist Drive will resume on Monday 28th April in the Lower Hall at 7.30pm. All, including beginners, will be made very welcome. We are very friendly and would love to see you there, whatever your ability. Somebody will always be there to help if you have never played or if you're a bit rusty. The parish has purchased 12 new collecting baskets which were used at the Easter services. We would like to thank Margaret Ann Harkins for all her hard work and prayers that went into the inner lining - they are superb and we are justifiably proud of them.
Discerning a Vocation to the Priesthood? “The Lord is risen, it is true!” Through our baptism, Christ calls us to proclaim new life to the world. Pray for those who herald the Good News as priests, brothers and sisters. Safeguarding - As Parish Co-ordinator, I have written to all Volunteers regarding their Application to join the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme. I would remind Volunteers, who have still to do so, to enter their name on the Appointments List at the back of the Church to see myself this Monday, 28th April, 2014. If there are any Parishioners who are concerned that they undertake voluntary work involving children or vulnerable adults (for example a Eucharistic Minister visiting an elderly Parishioner at home or at a Nursing Home) and if they are not already members of the PVG Scheme, then they should seek advice from Fr. Mackle or contact myself. Thank you.
