Today, men and women from a variety of backgrounds are responding to the call to follow Christ and celebrate the Sacraments of the Church.

Volunteers needed – from the end of August, we will be looking for voluteers to take over the voluntary work of  keeping the rails on the sanctuary and the brass plates on the doors polished. If you have a little time to spare each week to take on this responsibility, please speak to Fr Mackle

Mother Teresa Exhibition - An exhibition documenting the life, spirituality and message of Blessed Mother Teresa is being staged at St Mungo's church, Townhead until Saturday 2 August. Made up of 78 panels, it documents the life of the remarkable Missionary of Charity from her birth in Albania in 1910 to her death in Calcutta in 1997. It tells of her journey from her fist religious steps as a teenage nun to her incredible missionary work in India and around the world as a witness to the dignity and worth of each person, especially the most vulnerable and neglected.
Entry is free.

The Halls Committee is intending to have an ‘autumn’ clean of the crypt at 10.30 on Saturday 9th August. If you are a user of the crypt, it would be helpful if a representative of your group could come along to help with the tidy up, particularly in the area occupied by your group. Hopefully, we should be complete by 12 Noon. Please call Gordon Reid, Halls Letting Secretary, for further details. 07528 425 698.

New Hymn Supplement - within the next few weeks we will be introducing a hymn supplement for use along with our Laudate hymnal. This will include a number of well known hymns for both parish and St Andrew’s Primary school use, as well as the new Gloria, which we've been learning over the past few weeks. Music is such an important part of the liturgy and very much enhances our experience at Mass, and I hope that having a more extensive range of hymns will further help us with this.

St Andrew’s Whist Drive will take place on Monday 28th July in the Lower Hall at 7.30pm. All, including beginners, will be made very welcome. We are very friendly and would love to see you there, whatever your ability. Please contact Susan Morrison on 0141 563 7959 or 07580086381 for more information or just come along for a great night.

The church is open each weekday until 4.45pm. From the end of August, we will require a rota of volunteers to lock up the church. Ideally, we are looking for five volunteers – one for each evening. So far, we have a volunteer for Thursday. If you can help, please speak to Fr Mackle.
