Lots of fun was had by the young people of P7 at their Leavers’ Parties last week. Huge thanks to Tesco, ASDA and Dominos for their donations, and to the Youth Team for looking after all the preparations and the organising of the parties.
Congratulations and well done to our parish's Caritas candidates, Kirsty Kennedy and David Docherty in being successful in achieving their Caritas Award. They worked hard for it over the past year as part of the parish’s Live Streaming Team – plus doing filming and stewarding. Great work. Well done, both. Along with hundreds of young people from across Scotland, they would have been presented with the Caritas Award at the Clyde Auditorium, but due to all the restrictions this is not able to happen. We will be delighted, though, to mark their award at our 10am Mass on Sunday 4th July.
Massive thanks to our parish’s Caritas Co-ordinators, the teachers, and to all our parishioners and others who have supported Kirsty and David throughout their Caritas journey.
If you will be in your final year of school after summer, or just finished High School and are interested in becoming a candidate for the 2021 / 2022 Caritas award, speak to Fr. Mackle or contact Elizabeth Reid at [email protected]

Catholic Social Teaching Thought for the Week - 27th June Not all of us can prevent a war; but most of us can help ease sufferings — of the body and the soul. She became known as Pakistan’s Mother Teresa and is credited with eradicating leprosy in the country. Your Giving to St Andrew’s Our parish’s annual accounts have been submitted to the archdiocese. A massive Thank You to all our parishioners who have continued to support our parish over this past year. We have, like many other charities, seen our income greatly reduced over the past 12 months. This is, of course, because of the lockdowns and closures and there being fewer people being able to attend church. Thank you, once more, in these difficult times for your generosity towards your parish. Fr Mackle
All who are going into P6 after summer, it is time to start thinking about becoming a PFFA candidate. Invitations to enrol will be going out in the new school term, and parish sign up will be arranged at that time too.
Are you interested in becoming Catholic? Or do you know someone who is? If you or someone you know are interested in becoming Catholic, or if you know anyone who might be interested in the Church, why not sign up for St Andrew's RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)? This group – which meets from after summer through to Easter / Pentecost each year – is for those who are interested in becoming Catholic. No commitment is made until fairly late in the annual process. For more information, call 942 4635 or [email protected]
