Mass for our beloved deadtakes place on Sunday 3rd November at 12noon. The families of those who have lost a loved one over the past year have been invited but, of course, everyone is welcome who wishes to pray for those whom they have lost. Refreshments will be served in the upper hall after Mass.
Monthly Reflection Sessionafter the 10 am Mass Monday 28th of October will take place in the Church House dining room. Please join us for coffee/ tea and a friendly discussion. We will be reflecting on the gospel for Sunday 3rd of November which is Luke 19:1-10.

October Devotions in honour of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary. Rosary & Benediction Today, Sunday 4.30pm – 5.00pm. Praying especially during this Extraordinary Mission Month for the entire Church to bear witness to our faith with missionary vitality.
Primary 6 Day Retreat – this Friday 1st Nov beginning with 10am Mass. We’re very grateful to the Youth Ministry Team and parish catechists for all the preparations they have made to look after the retreat day. Grateful, too, to the class teachers, Caritas candidates and Pope Francis Faith Award participants who will be assisting.
Calling S1 Young People – the Youth Ministry Team is organising a social / reunion for the P7s who left primary in June. If you can help in any way to advertise this with WhatsApp etc and in the schools, the parish would very much appreciate it. A social and catchup in St. Joseph's Hall, Milngavie - Saturday 9th November. 630pm to 830pm. Games, crafts,Pizza, Karaoki and much more. Tell your friends. Caritas students will be helping with the evening.
The St Andrew’s parish Christmas Fair will take place on Sunday 17th November after 10am and 12 noon Masses. This will be similar to last year’s, with a selection of charities at the event.Could parishioners who would like to host a stall please contact either Anne MacIntosh (931 5861) or Annamaria Strachan (942 9799) before Sunday 3rd November to confirm.All profits from the Piety Stall go to Church funds.Tea, coffee and home baking will be served at this event with all proceeds this year going to The White Lily Fund.This charity was founded by one of our own parishioners, Mrs Angela Bruno MBE, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and now raises funds for research into and equipment for ALL types of cancer in the west of Scotland and has raised over £1 million to date.
Sincere thanks to all who helped and came along to October’s Coffee Morning.The sum of £117 was raised for the Parish Soup Run.
Fair Trade Group – Christmas Event. The Milngavie and Bearsden Fair Trade Group is holding a Christmas Fayre in the Upper Hall from 3.30 – 5.00 pm on Friday 29 November 2019. Mince pies and non-alcoholic fruit punch together with goods (including Christmas cards and Advent calendars) will all be sale. All are welcome.
“The Eucharist in Scripture.” A series of video talks by Dr Scott Hahn, author or At the Lamb’s Supper and Rome, Sweet Home. He will walk us through the scriptural roots of the Blessed Sacrament. Where we find the institution of the Eucharist in Scripture, what we actually believe is happening at Mass, and why the Eucharist is at the centre offaith. The course will run on Tuesdays at 7pm and Thursdays at 2pm through to Advent. St Gregory's, Hall 130 Kelvindale Rd., Glasgow G20 8DP. All most welcome.
Soup run–to arrangements - Many thanks all who provide soup and fooda very regular basis totaken to in need, it’s very much appreciated. Throughout the winter months, our soup run volunteers will also visit Glasgow City Mission. Starting in November, we will trial providing home made soup and food that has a longerlife than sandwiches. We will distributebags with apot noodle,of, cereal, soft fruit, crisps and biscuits. you can provide any of these, rather than sandwiches, can you please continue to drop off in the lower hall around 6.30pm. Soup Run – Christmas Gifts & Carols– Oursoup run volunteers and folk group will takeGifts and sing carols at two centres this year on Fri 6th Dec and your help in making that happen, would be. We would like each gift to include : a hand writtencard, hat, gloves, scarf, underwear, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrush and ladies to include sanitary products. These will be in a Gift bag rather than wrapped this. If you are able to provide any or all of these items including gift bags, canplease put in the box at the back of the church marked Soup Run, between now andSun 24th Nov. In addition, extra new orcondition inexpensive men’s underwear isneeded and will also be distributed at the Wayside.
The Justice and Peace Groups— from St Andrew’s, Bearsden, and St. Joseph’s, Milngavie, have joined with members of New Kilpatrick, Bearsden, in organising an evening on the 14th November to hear the views on Trident of church representatives and local politicians. Father John Gannon and the Very. Alan D. McDonald will present the churches position.
