Family Fun Walk – Come Join Us!Sign Up sheet in the porch.An all abilities countryside walk (30 – 45 minutes) to Schoenstatt, 
Lennoxtown, Sunday 15th Sept.Bus will leave from the Hub at 1.15pmfor  Kirkintilloch and walk to Schoenstattconclude with a short prayer service in the beautiful grounds of the Shrine. A good opportunity to meet parishioners from parishes in our cluster, with some fun thrown in for young and old. No charge for the day – just bring a packed lunch and some drinks. Please enter your name on the sign up sheet in the porch, if you would like to go.
 
We look forward to welcoming our ten Legion of Maryguests from Ireland who will be joining us next month (24th– 31stAugust) for the Pilgrimage for Christ - Peregrinatio week. 
 
We still need a few more volunteers, please, to help with midday meals for the Pilgrimage for Christ week. Extra help needed for Tuesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtime sessions. Two volunteers still required to help out on each of these lunchtime slots. If you are free to help, please email [email protected]
 
The Legion of Mary will be doing "door to door"visiting, in pairs, as many homes as is possible in the Bearsden area, chatting with people, speaking about the faith, and extending an invitation to the Mass and buffet supper on the final evening - Friday 30th August at 7pm. Please keep this week in your prayers that it will be successful and fruitful.
 
Save the Date –Friday 30thAugust. 7pm Mass followed by buffet supper in the hall with entertainment. Everyone’s welcome. Celebrating Pilgrimage for Christ Week.
 
Appeal for driversfor the week 24th– 31stAugust – dropping and collecting from visitation points in Bearsden. If you are free to help, please email [email protected]
The relics of St Therese of Lisieuxwill be visiting the Archdiocese of Glasgow from 16th - 19th September. The relics will stop first at HMP Barlinnie where Mass will be celebrated before being transferred to the parish of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux in Possilpark where they will remain until their transfer to the Cathedral on Tuesday 17th September. A programme of events and flyers will be available soon.
 
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults:The programme for this year for those Adults who wish to be Baptised or received into the Catholic Church will begin after summer. If you are interested in becoming a Catholic, please speak to Fr Mackle.
 
Next soup run is this Friday 2ndAugust.Donations of soup, sandwiches, soft fruit etc can be brought to the lower hall 6.30pm. For food hygiene purposes, ideally it would be really helpful if sandwiches could be in packs of two or four. Many thanks - Soup run team
 
Word on Fire:How can we develop our thinking as Catholics about Catholicism in order to spread the Good News with confidence? The US-based Word on Fire Institute, founded by Bishop Robert Barron, provides tools for laypeople to become Catholic evangelists. The Institute’s website includes theological tools, moral teaching, and provides advice on how to develop our holiness.    See: https://wordonfire.institute/. You can also access a wealth of videos about our faith by subscribing to Bishop Barron’s YouTube channel. Bishop Barron addresses a whole host of matters ranging from Catholic theology to myths about the Catholic Church. Go check it out and be inspired!
 
The Caritas Award 2020  So far, we have three candidates. Still not too late if you would like to sign up. If you are in your final year of high school or just left and interested in learning about the Caritas award, speak to Fr. Mackle or contact Elizabeth Reid [email protected]
 
St. Andrew's Whist Drivewill take place on Monday 29thJuly,  beginning at 7.30pm, in the Lower Hall. Everyone is welcome regardless of ability. Someone will be on hand to help if you are a beginner. It is, essentially, a social night. £3 includes admission, raffle ticket and tea/coffee. Come along for a great night. We'd love to welcome you! For more details contact Susan Morrison.
 
The church is openuntil 4.45pm (7.30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays) Call in and enjoy the peace and quiet, and take time to sit in the stillness in the silence of God.  Tea is served in the hutafter daily Mass. All most welcome.

Monday 19thAugust – Men’s 3 Hour Retreat.Schoenstatt, Lennoxtoun. It offers an amazing opportunity for men to grow their spirituality in a fashion that is suited to them and the world they inhabit. 10.00 – 13.00. £8 per head includes all materials and beverages.
 
Mary’s Mealsbe visiting the parish to collect any unwanted, rags etc for recycling on Sunday 29th September. They regret that they cannot take duvets and pillows. They will also sell raffle tickets after each Mass.
 
Scottish premier of the pro-life play: “Crowned with Glory and Honour” will be performed at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival from August 6th– 10th. Tickets £5. For more details, email [email protected]
 
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament –Saturdays -10.30am until 12.30pm. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is, perhaps, the best way to enter into prayer and draw closer to Jesus outside of Holy Mass. Adoration is sitting quietly before the real presence of Christ, who hears us and who sees us. Consider coming to spend time in adoration and prayer each Saturday.We would like to have a number of adorers for each half hour, to ensure that the Blessed Sacrament is never left unattended.
 
Lord, Make Me Know Your Ways- Could God be calling you to serve as a priest? Please get in touch to find out more about discerning your vocation. The 31 Club –Anyone can join. Offer one Mass each month for Church vocations. All that is looked for is a personal commitment to attend and offer up a Mass for vocations. You pick a day in the month that suits. Just sign or initial a date on the 31 Club sheet in the porch. Promoted by Glasgow Serra.
 
Padre Pio Prayer Group – meetsMondays at 7pm. Rosary played daily 9.40am. Divine Mercy Novenais prayed weekdays after morning Mass in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. All most welcome.
 
Meeting for all parents of altar servers,including parents of all new servers – Thursday 22ndAugust at 7pm in the Upper Hall.

Drumchapel FoodbankAll donations always gratefully received and delivered every Monday. The Foodbank needs extra donations during the holidays when school meals are not provided, putting many families under additional strain.
