Like to Train and become a Parish Catechist? If you would like to apply for this two-year part-time course, sponsored by the parish, and train to become a parish catechist, speak to Fr. Mackle.  This course is also suitable for those who wish to study for their own purposes.  For further information, contact the RE Dept on 226 5898   /[email protected].

Frank Bonner recently advised the Liturgy Group that he wishes to resign as co-ordinator of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion in the parish. Consequently, a replacement will be required who can look after the rota from September. If anyone would be interested in taking on this role, for a fixed term of 2 years, could they please say to Frank or Fr Mackle. I want to take this opportunity, on behalf of the parish, to thank Frank most sincerely for all his efforts in the time he has been involved in organising the rota and for being a member of the parish's Liturgy Group.

White Lily Charity Tea Party. A huge thank you to all who either donated money or came along to our White Lily fund tea party last Saturday. We had a fantastic turnout and, with your help, managed to raise the amazing sum of £1,500 !!! We are all simply thrilled. Many thanks also to those who donated raffle prizes and home baking, it was all very much appreciated and we've never seen so many cakes before!! Special thanks to Annamaria and Ian Strachan, Joe and Maureen Gregory, Pat Tollin, Christine Holt, Tricia and Michael Carroll and Angela Bruno for their invaluable help in setting up and on the day itself. Lastly thanks to Fr Mackle for all his help too. We are so very, very grateful to you all. God bless. Veronica, David and Victoria Maguire

Last Sunday’s Coffee Morning. Many thanks to all who came along on Sunday to our last coffee morning before the summer holidays. The sum of £140 was raised and will go to Fr Mathew Joseph Parumootil's school in Northern India, as Fr Mathew was actually visiting St Andrew's between 19th - 21 June and he managed to attend the coffee morning. Thank you all so much once again for your continued support and we wish you all a very happy summer. David and Veronica Maguire.

Fabric Issues - It was agreed at the 4th June Fabric & Finance meeting that the church required redecoration and that, along with the carpeting to the sanctuary, we could make the request to the archdiocese that this work be done as an “approved project”, which if granted would mean that all funds raised would be ring-fenced as non-leviable. The likely cost would be in the region of £22,000. Also, at the meeting, there was a proposal to extend the car park at the rear of the church, but it was agreed that this be put back to another time.

Interested in becoming a Catholic? – Not baptised? Baptised in another faith? The RCIA Programme (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adult) will begin in the autumn.  RCIA is the process by which adults are received into the Catholic Church.  The programme of catechesis and instruction prepares adults for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist, usually celebrated at the Easter Vigil.  Please speak to Fr. Mackle or Monsignor Ryan if you have any questions about receiving the Sacraments as an adult, or if you would like to know more about RCIA and the Catholic faith.
