"Lord, send out your Spirit
and renew the face of the earth."

Day for Life ~ a day in the Church’s year dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition. The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death. The second collection will be taken up to support the Church in her vital Pro-Life work.

Coffee Morning ~ today after 10am and 12 noon Masses.  Combined event to raise funds for our own parishioner Hannah Quinn who will be representing our Parish at WYD in Lisbon, 1-6 August. Hannah works tirelessly as an altar server, cantor and assisting the Youth Ministry. There will also be the opportunity to meet and purchase a signed copy of Fr Joseph Dillon, SVD’s memoir ‘People I Met On The Way - 50 Years A Priest in Brazil'.   All parishioners are welcome to the evening launch or the book signings at the coffee mornings. Profits from Fr Joe’s book sales will go to his health projects in Sao Paulo in Brazil.

A very warm welcome to Fr Joe Dillon ~ Fr Joe has been visiting the parish for the past week, saying Masses, and this evening after the Vigil will be launching his book ~  A Memoir ‘People I Met On The Way - 50 Years A Priest in Brazil'.  All most welcome. There will be Q&A and refreshments will be served.

World Youth Day ~ Hannah Quinn will be joining more than 60 others from across the archdiocese who will be celebrating WYD with over one million young people from around the world this August in Lisbon.  Details soon of a July 1st fundraiser.

“Looking to the Future” Archdiocesan consultation: Fr. Currie, Margaret Barton and Fr Mackle attended the first full meeting of the Deanery Council this week.  Both parishes’ responses to the consultation questions were presented to the Deanery Council.  The discussion about the key areas of evangelisation, collaboration and resources was wide-ranging, with many good examples of present practice being presented and helpful suggestions for the future made.  St. Andrew ‘s and St. Joseph’s parishes will form a Pastoral Area Group within the new Deanery.   It is hoped that our new Deanery will be re-named as the St. Margaret’s Deanery.  Suzanne Boyle from the Kirkintilloch Pastoral Area Group was nominated as the lay member of the Council to be Vice Chair, supporting Fr. Campbell, the Dean.  When completed, the report from our Deanery, which is to be submitted to the Archdiocese by 18th June, will be made available on the parishes’ websites and social media.

Don’t forget - there is the new £1m fund to support parishes with initiatives to evangelise. Any additional ways that you can think of in which we can evangelise, reach out, invite and encourage then please just say.
